Board met in special session at 7:30 P.M. All members present.

This being the date set for plans and spec if icat ions un eTrack Separation
Resolution No. 29 all parties interested being not if ied of said hearing. Mr. Geo. Witaar
representing The Studebaker Corporation of America was present. 13y usandmus consent of the
Board this hearing was ordered c oat inued until August 20th. ,1918 at 10: 00 A.M. The Clerk
of the Board ordered to notify All parties of 44e- record of the action of this Board.
The Board awarded contracts for lublic improvements es follows: -
South Bend, Ind. Way 2091918.
Concerning the imrovement of the roadway of Blaine Avenue from
Lincoln Way West to Portage Avenue in Pursuance to resolution No. 569 , the Board finds that
no petition has been filed with► said Board Board by a majority in'numbero of the freeholders
res id ing on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different
kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its .preliminary order;
ad the City Engineer reports that Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best
bidder for the kind of avement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that
said Williston ConstruZon Company is the lowest' and best biddwr aid hereby lets the
c ontrac t for said -improvement to him, and orders that said said improvement to be made
with Asphaltic Concrete using Triniddd Natural Lake Asphalt and all proceedings heretofore
had in this matter -are hereby c onf irmed and ratified.

Street to Blaine Avenue in pursuance to resolution No. 568. the Board finds that no
petitioia has been filed with said Board -by a majority in number of the freeholders resid-
ing on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different kind of
pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order; and the
City Engneer reportdthat Williston Construction CompAny is the lowest and best bidder
for the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Boe°dd, and the Bo rd find that &aid
Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the contrast
for said improvement to nim, and orders that sr -id improvement be made with Asphaltic
Concrete using Trinidad Lake Natural Lake Asphalt and all proceedings heretfore had in this
matter are hereby c onf irmed and ratified.
