Mr. Frank° $a,tch met with the Board in regard to placing and rearranging lights on reque grounds on Riverside Drive. The Board ordered that the Indiana & Michiga n Electric Company be notified to rearrange present lights on Roque grounds and place two new 80 C. B. Lights. Mr. Prast &,pp a ed before the B r a, d requested that: the City Cor, and he Rve. pay for sidewalks extensions one uey S rect.,+as he s eonstrueting sidewalk on said Street on private contract. the Board advised Mr. Prasat to notify the Board when the extensions were to be put in and the City Contractor would be notified to place same for the City. Be It Resolved, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that it is desired and doomed necessary that the following described property beginning on the west line of Notre Dam Street at a point 32 feet south ofthe southeast -corner "of lot 13 Coquillard's Second Add it ion; thence northwesterly on a straight line to the southwest c ornerof lot 7 in said Add it ion which point is on the southwest corner of lot 7 in said Add it ion which point is on the east line of St. Peter Street; thonee.south on the east line of St. Peter Street to the southwest corner of Lot 12 in Coquillard 6s Second Addition; thence southeasterly on the southerly line of let 12 and 14 in said Add it ion to the southeast corner of lot -14 in said Addition; thence, north to the place of beginning, be -under the control and supery is ion of the Board of Park C ommiss ioners of said City and made a part of the Boulevard system of said City. Reserving, however, unto this Board of Public Works, the right to lay, connect, and order to be laid and connected, all pippe, sewers, conduits and other under- ground work, retainixg hereby for such last named purposes all the power which this Board originally had in and to said Street,. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, NOTICE OF DEFECT IN SIDEWALK AND INJURY. This is to notify you that on the evening of April 21st., 1918, Mrs. Collia. Bolen , wide of Alex Bolen was injured by a fall to the sidewalk caused. by stepping, in defect in the sidewalk, which said -defect is a hole about six (6) inches square and two (2) inches deep and located on -the northwest corner of the street intersection at Michigan Street and Jefferson Blvd, or more specifically described as being in front of a building at street number 139 South Michigan Street in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Th,at.said Collis Bolen.stepped in said hole aforesaid and was injured in this td;wit:by reason of the fAll to the sidewalk caused by. stepping in said hole her shoulder was thrown out of location and received severe sprains and brudies to.her body, and that mddical attention and other care has been necessary to the expense of One Hundred and twenty five ($125.00)Dollers. witness my hand this 29th. day of April 1918.
