Continuation of Bill 03-19- Rental Safety Verification Program
Bill No. 03-19 regarding the Rental Safety Verification Program (RSVP) has
been continued to the February 25, 2019 Common Council meeting.
“I appreciate the public meetings Health and Public Safety Chairperson Jo
M. Broden (4th District) has held on this bill. The Common Council
appreciates the public input on the Rental Safety Verification Program, we
are committed to taking our time to get this right before we vote,” stated Tim
Scott, South Bend Common Council President.
Suzanna Fritzberg, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor’s Office, stated “We
are grateful for Council’s leadership in promoting community dialogue and
providing valuable feedback on the proposed program. We appreciate the
continued support of our Bill sponsors, who share our vision of RSVP as a
tool to promote long-term improvements in rental housing health and safety,
and look forward to working closely with Council and community members
to refine the proposal.”
