92 v Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. All members present. Mr. Higgins representing the Burroughs Adding machine Company appeared before the ,Board in regard to selling a new machine for the office of the Board. No action taken. TheBoard ordered that one Underwood Typewriter at the price submitted in bid of Wednesday January 16th: ,1918 be placed in the Mayor' a office. Mr. Harry N. Barnes appeared before the Board and presented the following communication from The National Company iu regard to grading on Portage Avenue, same read and placed on file. January 22nd.1918, Board of Public Works, South Bend,, Indiana. Gentlemen: - ' !� We, will accept as complete the grading on Portage Avenue, as performed by H..N. Notice of this resolu- tion shall be published on the 28th. day -of January 1918 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating thatthis Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 6tht day of February 1918 at 7:15 P.M. v The following ordere* was unanimously adopted by the Board. The Board is of the opinion owing to the lack of need for the Assistant City Electrician that the position of same be eliminated,, and it is further ordered that Ur. 0. Davis now assistant electrician should hold over until February 1st., 1918. Renewal certificate on Bond No. 251050-14 in the sum of Twenty five Thousand ($25,000.00)Dollare filed by the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company as principal and United States Fidelity and Gunaranty Company as sureties was received and filed by the Board. Petition received read and placed on file for an electric light at the corny of.Kendall Street and Orchard Street. Petition received for light at north ends of Fulton Court and Hamden Court where alley intersects. The Board ordered one 80 C.P. Lamp placed at Fulton Court where alley intersects. V Petitions filed with the Board for pipe sewer and grade on Division Street from Olive Street to Kentucky Street. Ur. S. M. Robinson appeared before the Board in regard to action on same. Board deferred action on said petit ions until Tuesday January 29th, ,1918 at 10: 00 A. M, v Cormunieation received read and placed on file from L. G. Cuuter in Assistant City Engineer in regard to increase in salary. No action taken on same.
