All members present;to-wit; John F. De haven, Gilbert A. Eliatt and Harvey F. Restiier.. The Board being fully qualified as required by law now proaeedo to organization. John F. De Haven moved that the name of Gilbert A. Eliott be placed in nomination for the Presidency of the Board of Public Works which was duly .seconded by Harvey F. Rostiser, said motion was carried and Gilbert A.Elliott was`duly elected President of the Board of Public Works for the ensuing four years. - Motion was made by John F. De Haven that the name of Harvey F. Rostiser be placed: in nomination for Vice Presidency of the Board of Public Works which was duly seconded by Gilbert A. Elliott, said mot ion was carried and Harvey F, Rostiser was duly elected Vice President of the Board of Public Works for the ensuing four years. Respectfully submitted, FRANKLIN R. CARSON. The above appointments and and rec ommendat ions of ; Mayor Franklin. R. Carson were unanimously approved by the Board. Motion prevailed, that Veronica. C. Sweeney., be duly appointed,. Clerk of. the Board of Public Works, Bame carried. Motion prevailed, that Dewey C. Layton be appointed Street '3ommisaioner, John W. Fites Deputy Street Commissioner, Joseph Burke Street Foreman and Stanley Kolkiewiez Street Foreman, same carried. Motion prevailed that George M. Urey be appointed Seaton of the City Cemetery, same carried. Motion made by Board that this meeting be adjourned until 2: 00 P. M. this 7th., day of January 1918, same carried. Board met in adjourned session at 2:0.0 P.X. All members present. ,.The followiAg communications received from'Ma,yor Franklin R, Carson in, regard to appointments and recovmendations of same were unanimously approved. Jan. 7,1918. Wednesday mornirga between 10:00 AiM. to 12:00 U. for water Works businse , Wednesday evenings at 7:15 P.M. for regular hearing, on improvements etc., and last I'riday of each month between the hours of 10:00 A.M. ,to 12:00 M. Same was unanimously carried. Resolved by the Board that bhe following notice be published it the South Bend Daily Tribune and South Bend Deily New Times,;on the 8,9, and 10th. day of January 1918 for the following, NOTICE TO APPLICANTS FOR EXAMINATION FOR BUILDING COMbdISSIONER AND CITY , EEECTR IC IAN. All applicants for the position of City Building Commissioner, Inspector# City Electrician and Assistant will repert' for examination to be held in the Common Council Chambers in the City Hall can Friday January llth. , 1918 at 9: 00 A.M.
