R..Baker appeared before the Board and took up the matter of plat of Baker & MaRtary of property fronting on kishawaka Avesnue, filed in October 1917,,requesting the Board to approve of the same. Mr. Attorney P. E. Lambert appeared represent.iag the Johnson property fronting on Mishawaka Avenue and sjoini.sg said McHenry &1ftker Plat, and objected that said McHenry & AW!'r Plat be approved. The Board decided to defer act.don on said plat until. '�:45, P U. 'this 18th. day of December 1917. <t Mr. H. A. Barnes appeared before the Board and requested that the Board allow him a final estimate on the grading of Portage Avenue. No action taken oa same* The City Engineer submitted a list of outstanding accounts for the Beard's consideration. The same was referred totthe City Attorney for action. !/ Attorney Wm. A. McIneray, representing the White Cmnstructien Company, met with the Board and requested that the Board approve of allowance for the amount of morbor cushion that had been put in under brick pavement under street car tracks on Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue. The Board instructed the City Engineer to prepare a statement of the amount and present., same at session to be held at 7:45 PM. This 18th. day of Dec. 1917. The following resolution was approved at the request of the Board of J/ Park Commissioners. R E S 0 h U T I O N. Be It Resolved by the Board, that Kemble Avenue is ordered closed until further notice, sixteen feet is center of street between Indiana Avenue and Ewing Avenue leaving a driveway on each side. Same to be used for the Rum Village Slide. Bids were received, read and referred to the: City Engineer for pipe L/ sewer on Dayton Street from Marine Street to the 1st. -alley west of Leer Street. The Board therefore find . that the property .assessed in said roll filed December 4th. ,1917 is benef itted in the amount of assessments as shown ; on said tells, and , the Beard further find that the assessment rolls filed December 4th. 1917 and the final ost.imate allowed'December 4th. ,1917 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. The Honorable Board of Works, South Bend, Indiana.: Dear Sirs: �--- The City Planning Committee hsve requested this,department to furnish them with about fifty maps of the City. These maps will oest about one dollar each. Will you kindly instruct me as to whtither or not you wish=this department to order these maps and as to whether you will authoriZe the expenditure of fuAda from the apgropAiation for° engineering for this purpose. At the rec ommendat ion of the City Attorney, the Board approved of the following resolution. R E S O L U T I 0 A. WHEREAS, on the 23rd. day of January 1917, Wm. K..Mcxenry submitted to the Board of Public Works a plat of Baker McHenry Additionl described as follows: - Beginning at a stake in the Country Road, leading from South Bend to ltihhawaka ( now known - as Mishawaka Avenue) at the angle where said read (or Avenue):strikes the section 1 j.e dividing sections 7 and 18 Township 37 North Range 3. East at a point twenty four and thirty eight hundredths (24.38) chains west of the quarter :post in said section line thence running east four and sixty hundredths (4.60) chains to a stone in the center of said road (or Avenue) thence south twenty three (23) chains to a stake at the St. Joseph Riwwr thence down said River north forty two and one half (4* degrees west six and eighty two hundredths (6.82) chains . mgander ing with the same until it strikes a line running due south from the place of beginning. Thence north se venteen and ninety eight hundredths (17.98) chains to the place of beginning containing nine and forty two hundredths (9.42) acres more or less. And Whereas, said Board approved said plat but said Wm. K. McHenry has filed, and refused to place said Plat an record and has withheld the same From record and has st diff-arent times informed the Board that he desired to have said plat revoked and desired to submit another plat of said land , THEREFORE, f Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works ,that because said Plat has with held from- record az imtsasef 9ble length of time and because of . the statements of said Wm. K. McHenry, said Plat is hereby and in all tUAngs revoked and set aside and the streets and alleys so approved are hereby vacated.
