Street Commissioner reported that signs had been placed for

Cemetery.

Cemetery Sexton instructed to report on outstanding accounts

All departments under the Board to be notified to prepare their
yearly reports as soon as passible.
The following petition was riled by the Chicago, South Bead &
Northern Indiana Railway company,

The -Undersigned, the Chicago, South Bend & Northern Indiana Ralway
Company, hereby notifies you that it wishes the pavement and improvement of that
portion of Jefferson Boulevard which is occupied by the tracks of said company
and which said portion said company is bound by contract with the City to improve
at said company s expense, to be included in the general contract let by your Board
B.or the improvement of said street as described in improvement Resolution so. 559.
and proceedinge b*lativd thereto.
We also ask that Metropoli tan or equally good paving brick be used.
that brick be laid in sand cushion; other details as to the construction of that
portion occupied and padd for by the railway company to be determined by the Board —
of Public Forks, and the City Engineer, and the Railway Company, previous to the
adoption, of final plans and spec if icat ions for said improvement.

Gent lemen: -
At the least meetircj of the City Planning Committee, the Secretary
was instructed to petition the Board of Public Works to set .aside the sum of $100.00
for the use of the Committee.
The Planning Committee wish to use this money to procure stationary
to purchase a number of books, and to eke care ofi afew incidentals expenses.

In regard to the appeal from the Building Dept . , of F. M. Jackson.,
in regard toe roof on B. F. Dunn's residence, and V. C. Hastings matter, the Board ordered,
these deferred until . Dec ember 18th. , l917.

Gentlemen.: -
v Regarding re -roofing present buildings inside the fire limits and fire
proof limits of the City.
It is recommended that roof coverings of class C. rating as given by the
Underwriter's Laboratories of Chicago be approved for replacing or repairing present
combustible 'roofs on old buildings within the fire limits and f ire prooc limits,,
provided special permission is deeured from the Builcting Department 8or each case,
Section #418, Paragraph 1822 of building code infers that certain composition
roofs may be approved' apt incombustible and incase of repairs to old roofs, I an
of the opinion that the City is justified in approving such materials. Classy C. rating
includes asphalt a ompos it ion roofs.
