Board met in gpeclil session at 11:00 A.M. Mr. A. H. Rice absent.
Concerning the Improvement of the roadway of Jefferson Blvd from
,' iUichigan Street to the west line of the Bridge over i:he St. Joseph River, with
asphalt, asphaltic con.crete brick, creosot red Wooden Block or bitulithic, in
pursuance to resolution Noj 559 November 20th., 1917 being the date for receiving
and opening bids, the Board at 10:00 A.M. on the above mentioned date; publicly
opened and read and considered all bids, and continued said time for preliminary
order until 7:45 .M. November 20th., 1917 and from that date to 10:00 A.M. this
219t. day of November 1917.
And thereupon the Board designated Sheet Asphalt the kind of

BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.
Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for Asphaltic
concrete pavement on Dubail Avenue from Michigan Street to Miami Street, under
Improvement Resolution Nol 543• In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in
said roll filed the'8th. day of November 1917 is benefitted In the amount of
assessments as shown on said rolls, ' and the Board further f isd that the assessment
rolls filed November 8th.,1917 and the final estimate allowe November 8th.,1917
should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved,
and ordered that the City Controller be notfied to hold out of the amount due'
The White Construction Company contractors, the sun of One Hundred Dollars until
further notice from the Board , complaints having been received in regard to
defective curb and dirt left on the street. The Board instructed the City Civil
Engineer to investigate the same abd report .to the Board.

Hearing given on Vacation Resolution No. 43 for the Vacaton
of an alley lying between . Lots 2.3 & 4 in Fords Sub. Div is ion of the south part
of Barak Out Lot 60. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared: and no written
remonstrance was filed. The Boerdtherefore sustain all farmer action taken and
declare the above described property in all things vacated and this resolution
in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further that the City Wngineer be instructed to
prepare a roll showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits to all parties
and ,properties interested in the hbove matter.
Petition received read and placed or. file for a light at corner
of Napier street and Cherry Street.

'South Bend, Indiana.
Gentlemen: -
I have checked the plans of lair. Toyne for the new reservoir to be constructed
at the Central Pumping Station, and, consider that the reservoir has. been designed to
safely carry the loads to which it will be subjected.
If the reservoir is built according to the plane and specifications under pro-
per supery is ion it should give a water tight job.

RES_0LUT ION.
Resolved, by the Board of Public, Works of the City" of, South Bend, County of
St. Joseph, State of Indiana, that bids shall be received for the sale, removal and disposal
of garbage and . small dead animals in the City of South Bend, Indiana and that spec if icat ions
are now adopted and are on file In the office of the Board,
Be It Further Resolved, that notice' of the time and place for receiving
such bids shall be published on the 21st. day of November 10.17 and on the .28th. day of
Ne'ember 1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the South Bend Daily; News4limea(evening
6(r., t ions. ) stat ing that th-is Board will rec a ive b ids up to 10: 00 A.M. Fr iday. Novmber
30th. ,,19176 The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. '
