The Board instructed the clerk to notify Mr. J. W. Toyne, Supt. of
Water Works to f iltda: written report of the c and it ion of the water connections and
extensions on Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue between Nineteenth Street and Jefferson
Blvd, and file same wy 5: 00 P.M. Friday November 9th. ,1917.
Mayor Mellette of Anderson, Indiana met with the Board and discussed
the matter of :the ,purchasing -of ,this.rycity',s °garbage. , No action taken on the same.
Eng ineer °filed °as5sessment °roll and final estimate -for pavement on
Dubail Avenue from Michigan Street to Miami Street, under Improvement Resolution No.
543. In the City -of -SouthBend,-Indiana.,
Res-olved, that notices as to the amounts `of assessments be published

Gentlemen: --
I have examined the contract, plans, and specifications in the matter of the
improvement of Eddy Street and Mihhawaka Avenue by the White Construction Company, and
/ it is my opinion does not provide for and require the laying of a mortar cushion
V under the brick pavement,along the ,tracks ,of ,the Street raa,il"'Way tracks. On the con-
trary the same ,seems ,to contemplate the use of sand cushion.
