A. To receive a County Chicken Permit you must obtain written approvai that your chicken coop and pen
meet zoning setback rules. You must provide the Building Department a site plan of the property
showing the location of the pens, coops, and septic with dimensions verifying it meets the minimum
equirements for setbacks and screening if applicable. Please visit the St. Joseph County Building
Department at 125 Lafayette St. Suite 100, So Bend, IN 46601 OR email buiidineiasn.ithbendin.vnv the
above requirements and copy of this permit application to the Building Department.
B. The Humane Society of St. Joseph County must receive your approvai from the Building Department prior
to doing an inspection and issuing the County Chicken Permit.

Proof of vaccination for rabies must be given by a licensed Veterinarian and be provided for each cat/dog/ferret 12
wMks of age or older. The applicant must adhere to General Animal Care Requirements (section 4.10.011 in
