Abandon Septic Tank on East side of building. Abandon tank in place with the following method: 1.) Disconnect pipes back to cast iron west of tank. Retain Cast iron for sanitary extension to lift station. 2.) Break bottom of tank in place. Fill tank with sand and compact in 12" lifts and fill completely. Remove top portion of tank to 12" below finish grade. 3.) Backfill remaining area above tank with soil to grade and compact. ProDeCom will be providing sanitary schematic based on discussion with Jeff Boocher of E.J.White. Sketch to follow. Tim please expedite if at all possible asphalt installation at cart path before plants close. Please confirm if other information is required from owner or AE. White Please see attached: photos and an as -built. The end of the sanitary inside the building is the cleanout that is half buried in the wall in the Southwest corner of the building. It is 12" BFF at this location. From here it runs on an angle to the Northeast until it reaches the North side of the building. From here, it stays about 3'-4' off of the North wall and runs all the way to the East until it exits the building about 22" BFF. All of the piping inside is cast iron that appears to be in good condition. About 6' after it exits the building, it changes to old clay the pipe. It runs from the building at about 7'-6" deep into an old fieldstone constructed septic tank (which you can tell is a septic tank from the brick separation wall that is no longer there). Inside the tank the line from the building comes in on the bottom of the tank. It exits the tank as clay the at about 7'-6" and runs on an angle towards the pumping station. About 6' from the pumping station it changes from clay the to cast iron. It is about 4'-6" deep at the pumping station. A couple things to note: the old septic tank outside needs to go. It was covered with grass and no one knew it was there. You can see that it has deteriorated inside to the point that the brick and stone is falling apart. The brick wall falling apart has actually lodged a brick in the line that runs between the tank and pumping station. Additionally, the angle of the line from the septic tank is directly through the area of the ADA ramp and new drywell at the exterior. It would be E.J. Whites recommendation that the old septic tank be removed and a new line ran from where it exits the building to the pumping station. This will eliminate the old septic tank, the line with the brick in it and also allow for rerouting to comply with the new exterior layout of the property (ADA ramp, drywell, etc.). E.J. White believes that they can also provide a stub -up for the kitchen and rework the sanitary in a better way now since the underground and aboveground sanitary is on the North end of the fireplace. They will look into that for pricing, but only after everyone has had a chance to review this information. Finally, Bob Frame made a recording of the camera work and is going to drop that off to E.1 Whites and then Jeff will drop it off to me and I will get it to Greg in the next few days.
