Occupancy Groups: A2, A3 and M No change in occupancy proposed in this project. 2. Construction Type: IV 3. Tabular Area: 15,000 SF per story; max existing story is 3,414 SF 4. Tabular Ht: 3 stories; actual height is 3 stories 5. Fire Alarm & Protection, Sec. 907: a. 907.2: Required in new buildings and structures. No new fire area or enclosed area is being added in this project b. 907.2.1: Manual system required where occupancy load due to the assembly occupancy is 300 or more 6. Group A occupant Load: a. Table 1004.1.2, Assembly Unconcentrated: 15 SF / P i, 4, 246 SF / 1S = 283 Occupants 7. Other Occupancy Group Loads: a. Table 1004.1.2, Mercantile, Grade Floor: 30SF/ P i. 453 SF / 30 = 15 Occupants b. Table 1004.1.2, Commercial Kitchen: 30 SF / P L 419SF/200=2 Occupants 8. Conclusion: A fire alarm system is not required by 907.2 or by 907.2.1 Melissa, Based on the info above, the fact that we are renovating an existing building, not changing the Occupancy, and have a Group A occupant load under 300, do you see anything that would trigger a requirement for a new fire alarm systern?
