Jefferson Blvd South Bend, Indiana 46601 Century Center — South Bend Lower Level Restroom Remodel City of South Bend Project No. 118-082A Bid Analysis and Recommendation DLZ Project No.: 1861-4566-50 Dear Mr. Nawrot, The City of South Bend — Board of Public Works received bid proposals for the Century Center Lower Level Restroom Remodel Project on November 27, 2018. Bids were read aloud by the Board of Public Works on November 27, 2018 at 10:00 at their regularly scheduled public meeting. Bids to perform said work were publicly advertised. A total of two (2) bid proposals were received. Bids identified a lump sum amount for labor and material for a complete installation associated with the Base Bid and Alternate 1 Scope of Work. In addition, a Five Thousand Dollars Allowance amount was included within the Base Bid amount. DLZ has confirmed the bid proposals met the intent of the bidding requirements. Refer to the attached Bid Tabulation document. If the Base Bid only is accepted, then The Robert Henry Corporation is the apparent low bidder; however, if the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1 are accepted then Brown and Brown is the apparent low bid. Based on the information available, DLZ recommends that the scope of work includes accepting the Based Bid and Alternate No. 1. This approach will reduce the total amount of the monies and reduce the duration to complete the work. As a result, DLZ recommends an Award of Contract is issued to Brown and Brown General Contractors, Inc. for the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1 for an amount of Two Hundred Thirty -Eight Thousand Six Hundred and Thirty -Eight Dollars ($238,638.00) upon the availability of funds.
