Update City Website
Update City Phones
Dr. David Varner noting the IT committee was set to begin its hearing more than an hour
beyond the advertised time apologized to those intending to make a presentation on the
Metronet. He had intended to discuss the background and development of fiber optic
data transmission through Metronet. In addition the distinction between the for profit and
not for profit dimensions of Metronet were to be discussed as well as Metronet were to be
discussed as well as Metronet's role in wireless communication in the future. Dr. Varner
allowed Bryan Baker, President of Com- Control a voice and data management consulting
firm, to speak briefly. However without adequate time left to explore the issues, Dr.
Varner entered two items (attachment filed in the Office of the City Clerk) into the record
for review and promised to schedule another time for IT to address the concerns raised.
There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson
Varner adjourned the meeting at 5:50 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
David Varner, Chairperson
Information and Technology Committee
