Re: Landmark Ordinance
Dear President Rouse,
A Certified Local Government
Catherine D. Hostetler, Director
Please find the attached Ordinance Landmarking 1905 College, Marquette Primary Center, for the Common
Council's consideration at its next regularly scheduled meeting. It comes to the Common Council with Historic
Preservation Commission's unanimous favorable recommendation from its May 21, 2007 meeting. It is also the
Historic Preservation Commission's understanding that First District Councilman, Derek Dieter is in support of this
Ordinance. At the same Historic Preservation Commission meeting, Marquette School was placed under interim
protection because of the South Bend Community School Corporation's objections to the landmark status.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Cathertn .Hostetler,
Director
