Agenda: Bill No. 06 -12 Overlay Special Use Districts
Vice Chairperson Dr. David Varner opened the hearing on Bill No. 06 -12 with a
full quorum save Chairperson Oliver Davis who called in saying he would be late.
The bill itself is a technical adjustment to the zoning code referring roof eave
provisions in special use districts. The bill was initiated by the Area Plan
Commission to eliminate a small building design requirement that might
unnecessarily impede housing construction permit approval. Christa Nayder
made a brief presentation noting the unanimous favorable recommendation it
received at the March 20th meeting of the APC. There being no questions, on a
motion by Gavin Ferlic seconded by Dr. Ferlic and supported by all the bill was
forwarded favorably.
Under miscellaneous, former Notre Dame basketball coach "Digger" Phelps was
allowed to outline his proposal to curb youth violence and improve performance
in the classroom. (A copy on file with the Office of the City Clerk's Office) A
formal kickoff for this initiative is to be on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at
the Kroc Center.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Vice Chairperson
David Varner adjourned the meeting at 3:48 p.m.
