(South Bend Municipal Code § 20-2(18). On July 1 1, 2005, the South Bend Board of Public Works held a public hearing and, in Resolution No. 49-2005, established rates for the parking of vehicles on City operated lots. The parking lot rates established by the Board of Public Works are reasonable and designed to bring in revenue sufficient to cover the cost of providing and operating these facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend as follows: Section I. The following daily rates which were established by the Board of Public Works on July 11, 2005 in Resolution no. 49-2005 are approved and shall be charged for the parking of vehicles on City owned or operated lots: (a) $3.25 per day for the lot located at 225 South Main Street (b) $5.00 per day for the lot located at 121 South St Joseph Street No in/out privileges will apply; an honor box system shall be used at both lots. Section II. Nothing herein shall affect the rights and liabilities accrued prior to the effective date of this Ordinance. Section III. The rates established in this Ordinance are reasonable and designed to bring in revenue sufficient to cover the cost of providing and operating these facilities. Section IV. Main Stand 121 S. Saint Joseph Street: Section 1: The following daily rates will be charged for vehicles parked at: a) 225 S. Main St.- $3.25/day (with no in/out, will make use of a honor box system) b) 121 S St Joseph St- $5.00/day (with no in/out, will make use of honor box system) Section 2: The monthly rates will remain commensurate with those charged in the City owned/managed garages, as previously approved by Resolution 3-2003. Jefferson Blvd. South Bend, IN 46601 Re: Parking Lot Rates Dear Ms. Pfeifer: Enclosed for filing with the South Bend Common Council is an Ordinance to fix rates at City owned or operated parking lots. Redevelopment Staff requests that the hourly rate charged for parking at 225 S. Main St. and 121 S. St. Joseph St. be established at $3.25 and $5.00 respectively. Both of these lots are owned by the Redevelopment Commission and are being held as possible development sites. Both are operated by AMPCO System Parking on behalf of the Commission. The Board of Public Works gave its initial approval of these rates at its meeting on July 11, 2005 in Resolution No.49-2005, a copy of which is attached.
