Key Performance Indicator’s Impacting Ecological Stewardship:
• Removed invasive honeysuckle from riverbanks.
• Planted nine new trees downtown.
• Pruned and provided healthcare to 255 parks trees (mostly Oaks) in City Cemetery, Potawatomi Park,
and the Potawatomi Zoo.
• Clean up 41 sites of storm damage resulting from high winds.
• Planted fall flowers in parks and downtown (ornamental kale, mums, and pansies)
• Planted tulip bulbs at O’Brien Center, Mayor’s Lot, Martin Luther King Center, and Riverside Drive.
• Installed plants at the Rum Village Dog Park.
• Installed summersweet shrubs in the Elbel Golf Course beds.
Completion and successful opening of the Rum Village Dog Park
Skilled Trades
• Received a matching funds grant for $189,197 for playground equipment as part of our 2019 MYSB Parks
and Trails neighborhood park upgrade. This equipment ranges from a zip line to sensory play for our users
who respond better to tactical and audible stimulus.
• Worked with the BCE2 interns to install a bench along Bowman Creek.

Central Mowing
• 918 Site Visit in September with 222 Abatements and 498 Cut By Owners.
Jon Hunt Plaza Renovations Complete
Forestry
• The City Forester has negotiated a legal low payment plan for 16 residents who are experiencing financial
hardships and cannot afford to take care of dead and dying trees on their property. This allows City crews
to remove the dangerous liability, while still allowing the resident to make low monthly payments with 0
interest.
Staff Updates
Staff attended Traffic Safety class.
