Mr. Geor8e Witwer appeared before the board and presented two petitions, one for Vacation of Four alleys in Elliott Tutt's Addition to the City of South Bend between Tutt Street and Dunham Street also Dunham Street from Lot 8 to'lot 16 in Elliott Tutt's Add it ion. Also one for" vscation of a part of Scott Street , `Leon Court and the first alley north of Leon Court. The Board referred the,`same to the -City Engineer°for �a resolution to be presented at session at 7:45 P.M. this 13th . day of Feb. 1917. 'Mr. -Forest Hillier met with the Board - and discussed the matter of a installing a proposed extension of High gtreet Sub -:Trunk sewer in the southernpart of City. The Board instructed City Engineer to furnish Mr. Hillier with an approx#mate estimated cost of the same. Mr. R. W. Binghamm representing the Welsbach Street Lighting Company of America with C. N. Chubb General Manager of the Northern Indiana Gas & Elec. Company of this City appeared bfore the Board and discussed gaslights in River Perk also the .,renewing of the contract farsaml which expires April lst.,1918. Mr. H. B. Re insagen, Assistant Pr inc ipal Engineer of the New York Central Railway Company of. Cleveland appeared before the Board andsubmitted plans of v the progress of work being done on Grade Separation of their railway in this .City. The Board agreed .to meet with Mr. Reinsagen within sixty days from date on the above matter. Mr. Chas. Weidler appeared before the Board and filed the following v petit ions: - Brick pavement on Miami Street from Ewing Avenue to City Limits. Sewer on Miami Street from Ewing Avenue to City Limits. Widening. of Ewing Avenue from Michigan Street to Ernsberger Street to 80 feet. All of the above petitions referred to the City Engineer for investigation . Heaving, had on Condemnation Resolution No. 47. for the widening of Leer Street from Lincoln Way East to Lake Shore & Michigan,Southern Railway Company right of way. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrance was filed but a member ofr interested property owners appeared. Attorney TW_ . M. Talcott and Attorney W. , N. Dinnen present- Thereupon `being fully advised in the matter,, the Board takes final action on said resolution, a nif irming without modification,, all former action taken on thk� name..', Arid-= the RBoard :now- orders that a list or roll be prey pared of all owners or holders of property, and of valuable interests therein , sought to be taken or to be injuriously affected, which list or.roil shall also describe the property beneficially affected. Mr Chas., weidler appeared before the Board and dicussed the matter of the widening of Ewing Avenue. Building Commissioner Perkins presented plans for the remodeling of the Police Barn for offices of the detective depdrtment. No action taken on ✓ same. Communication 'received from H. B. -Reinsagen, Principal Assistant Engineer for the New York Centred Railroad Company relative to condition of - Portage Avenue viaduct, stating that this matter would be investigated, -Same read and placed on file. ° Communication' recei#ed:_r-.and read from the City of Gary relative to Senate Bill No. 15. Same read and placed on file. Petition filed for an electric light on Leer Street from Dayton Street to L4er Street.' The following resolution were adopted by the Board. COPY OF VACAtion RE86LUT16H NO, 33. 1917. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That it is desirable to vacate the following: Fourthalleys in Elliott - Tutt's Addition to the City of South Bend, which alleys extend north from Tutt Street to Dunham Street and are situated between Lots No. 8 and 9, between Lots,No. 10 and 11, between lots No. 12 and 13 and between Lots No. 14 and 15 on the plat of said Addition. Also Dunham Street lying north of sadd lofts described as follows; Beginning at the north west corner of said lot 8 thence west . t,w.the;-northiaest corner of lot No. 16 in said Addition; thence running north to the north line of Dunham Street, about 34 feet; thence east on the north line of said Dunham Street to a point due north of the north west corner of said lot No. 8; thence south to the place of beginning. ' The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected. by such vacation: Beginning at the southeast corner of lot No 8 in Elliott Tutt's Addition to the City of South Bend, thence north to a point 150 feet north of the north line of Dunham Street; thence west to the easterly line of Prairie Avenue; thence southwesterly on the easterly line of Prairie Avenue; thence south westerly on the easterly line of Prairie Avenue to the north lineofTutt Street thence east on the north line of Tutt Street to the south east corner of lot No. 8 in said Elliott Tuttle Addition which point is the place of beginning. Notice of this resolution shall. be published on the 17th. day of Feb. 1917 and on the 24th. day of February 1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune. This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 13th. day of March 1917 at 7:45 P:M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, That it is desirable to vacate the following : ' A part of Scott Street, Leon 'Court and the first alley north of Leon Court, more specifically described as follows: 11COTT STREET: Beginning at a point 14 feet north of the northeast corner of lot 6 in -Raffle First Add it ion to South Bend; thence south on the west line of Scott Street to a point 30 Feet north of the south east corner of lot 7 in said Add it ion; thence east 20 feet to the east line of Scott Street; thence north on -the east line of Scott Street to a point 20 feet east f the place of beginning; thence west 20 feet to the place of beginning. LEON COURT: Beginning at the south east corner of lot 6 in Raff's First Odd it ion to South Bend. thence west 123.6 feet to the southwest corner if said lot 6 thence south 40 feet to the north west corner of lot 7 in said' Add it ion; thence east 123.6 feet to the north east corner of said lot 7 thane 40 feet to the place of beginning. ALLEY NORTH OF LEON COURT: Beginning at the north ea.3t corner of lot 6 in Raffle First Addition to South Bend; thence north 14 feet to the north line of alley; thence west on the north of alley 123.6 feet; thence south 14 feet to the north westeorner of said lot 6 thence east 123.6 feet to the place Sf beginning. The following ._ property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation: Beginning at the intersection of the north line of the first alley north of Leon Court and the east line of the first alley west of Scott Street; thence south along the east line of the first alley west of Scott Street to the north line of Indiana Avenue; thence east along the north line of Indiana Avenue to the firstglley east of Scott Street thence north along the first alley east of Scott Street and said alley produced north to a point due east of the place of beginning; thence west to theplace of beginning., Notice of this res olut ion shall be published on the 16th. day of February 1911-and on the 23rd. day of February _1917 in the South Bend Daily Tribune. This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 13th. day of FaMa.rah 1917 at 7: 45 P.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons inter- ested in or affected by these proceedings.
