I wish to call your attention ge- the desciription of the.= land to .be,
appropriated in the widening of Leer St.,
The tract described is twenty feet wide, measured at right angles to
Leer Str etj but because of the angle at which Lincoln Play East intersects Leer St.
the frontage taken on Lincoln Way.East is twenty two and.twenty saves hundr6ths
(22.27) feet,, -which on .the basis of $50.00 per front foot estimated as the value
of the land appropriated would amount t®1I12.50

Gentlemen: -
.Attached you will find an assessment roll `for the opening of the
north side Boulevard through the Cutter property.
As the suggestion of Mr. korrisp President of your 'ward *-: the benefits
assessed against the City of South Bend were made $19200.00 instead of $lt9OO-00
as at first intended. Respectfully submitted*

The City Engineer submitted the list of property owners in the matter
of the approprIation of` certain property under .Condemnation Resolution Nel 46, for the
opening of a boulevard :along north, side of River from Notre Dame Street to St. Peter
Street, in the. C4ty of South Bend, Indiana as per resolution on page 297 this record
adapted Aovember 14th.,1916. Which list includes the -names of,the owners and holders
of property and of interests therein sought to Abe taken or b_ea of is ially or injuriously
affected, and the description of the several pietes of property which is affected by
said appr opr iat ion pre a ed ings,
Thereupon the Board proceeded: to award the damages sustained and to
assess the benefits accruing to eacli- piece- of property`'upon said list.
It was thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded and unanimously
adopted,- resolved that said list, together with the amounts, of benefits and damages and
net benefits and net damages therein set -forth as to-theseveral parcels of Land he
adopted and that the respective amounts of benefits contained in said roll be and are
hereby assessed lagainat the several tracts of land as specifically set forth in said
list, and that the several tracts of land as specifically, set forth in said.. list, and What
the net benefits or net damages, as the case may be as the respective tracts• :of -land,,
c onta ined in said list are hereby awarded or assessed, as the case may be as to the .
said several tracts of ' land.
The Board hereby further sets off the benef its and damages each
aga inst the -other where both benefits and damages are assessed, against the same piece of
property,_ tract of land or interest, and hereby Fixes, said respectdve 'net�benefits, as the
amount that shall be paid by the respective owners as benefits and further hereby fixes
the respective net damages as to the sevral tracts as the amount that shall be paid to the
owners > of the respective tracts as damages.
Thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded and unanimously adopted,
the -6th day of March 1917 at 7: 45 P.U. was fixed as . the day on which this Board will
receive or hear remonstrances from persons with regard to the amouzkt, of their respective
awards or assessments and the Clerk of this , Board was . intrusted to prepare ,and cause
to be duly and legally given, notices to the owners of each parcel of property, showing.
the amount of .the assessmentsor award, with ,a description of the properaty affected., and
the date of said hear ing.

The lots are numbered from one (1) to fifty five (55) inclusive and the
d imens ions are shown on the annexed plat in feet and fractions of a foot., The streets
and alleys `are of the width marked on the plat in feet.. All streets and alleys hereon shown,
not heretofore public highways, are hereby dedicated tothe ,public for use as _public
highway. `

Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. Mr. John B. Weber absent.
Committee representing River Park Civic Association ( J. B. Witwer,
John Taber, ' Edward Moritz and Clarence Knoblock) appeared before the Board
and requested that bodlevard lights be placed on Mishawaka.Avenue before pave-
ment is laid. The Board took this matter under consideration until Tuesday
Fenruary 6th.,1917 at 71 45 P.M.
Hearing given on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer
on Dale Avenue from Indiana Avenue t� Dubail Avenue under Improvement Resolution
No. 472. In the City.of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter remonstrEators,appeared and no written remen-
strane a was filed. Tke Board after due c ons iderat ion . mod if ied said roll as
follows:- To add to north 8.0 ft. of lot 26 Oak Park Addition an assessment
of $32.60, same belonging to Gordom W, & Anna: A, Long. The Board therefore,
find that the property assessed in said roll filed January 9th.,1917 is beret fitted
in the amount of assessments as shown on said modified assessment roll and the Bead
further find that the assessment roll filed January 9th. , 1917 and the final estim-

said rolls filed January 9th.,1917 is benefitted in the amount of assessments
as shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessment rolls filed
January 9th.,,1917 and the final estimate allowed January 9th.,1917 should be

Hearing on assessment roll and final estimate for sewer con-
nections on Eddy Street and Mishaaaka Avenue from Jefferson Blvd. to Nineteenth
Street under Improvement Resolution No. 430, the same be deferred until this

The Board ordered the same deferred until Wednesday January 24th.
