The Board instructed the Clerk to notify all printing concerns that bids will be received up to 10:00 A.. January 2nd.1917 for the printing Bf the City's annual reports. Del. Gentlemen: - In checking the description for the land to be appropriated in the opening Of the highway known as the North side Boulevard , between Notre Dame Avenue and St. Peter Street, I find that an error was, made in the';;bdginning point, and recommend that that nart of the resolution describing the land to be apT�ropriated be amended to read as follows: Beginning on the west line of Notre Dame Avenue at a- point 32 feet south of the south east corner of lot 13 Coquillard's Second Addition; thence northwesterly on a straight line to the southwest corner of lot 7 -r ^,.id .Addition which point is on the east side of St. Peter Street; thence south on the _;east line of St. Peter Street to southwest corner of lot 12 in Coquillard's Seco-nd Addition; t ler-ce south easterly on the southerly line of lots 12 and 14 in said Addition to the south east corner of lot 14 in said Addition; thence .north to the place of beginning. Graham appeared before the Board representing -the Geo. Cutter Company in regard to the openinb, of a highway along north River Bank from Notre Dante Street to St. Peter Street and discussed the place of land to be taken for same. 33ti Mr. F. A. Bryan, .President of the Indiana & kichigan Elec. Company J met with the Board at their request and discussed the placing of traffic posts at street intersections in the City. The Board ordered that two posts be installed. One at the corner of Jefferson Blvd. and Main Street and one at the corner of Lafayette Blvd. and Colfax Avenue. Wilcoxen, Pres't and Gen'l. Mgr. of the Chicago Lake Shore and South Bend Railway Company stating that he had' :issued instructions to have any wires, belonging to our company, crossing the streets in the City of South Bend removed t.h.ere possible to do so, and will endeavor F:,o see that the matter is given prompt attention by the prover department. Gentlemen: - In regard to assessing the property o�irners on Haney Avenue for outlet t - the Broadway sewer, I have taken this matter up with the City. Attorney and his opinion is that this cannot be done. V The Attorney stated that the sewer. is nbt the property of the property owner along the street, but belon; s t-o the public, and that the City has the right to empty theHaney Ave. -sewer into the Broadway sewer. To the honorable Hoard of Public, Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana. ✓ "Vi.11 you Tease grant us permission -to open the two alleys at the inter- section of Main and Mi higan and Monroe and Souths Streets to repair our existing under -ground conduit. These conduits have broken in making it impossible to install our under- ground cable as called for by our plans in connection with our construction .cork.
