Deferred hearing had on Vacation Resolution No. 29 for vacation of Oft. of Ginz Avenue from Washington Avenue to Colfax Avenue. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. ° In the above matter Judge Van Fleet and Mr. E. C. Nicar representing the South Bend Manufacturing Company appeared and remonstrated` against said vacation but no further written remonstrance was filed. The Stephenson Underwear Mills by Burr C. Ste'lp henson(the'petitioners) agreed that their company would at'all times maintain a 16 foot roadway and erect I curb to se preserve said Sixteen (16) foot roadway where necessary. The Board therefore sustain all former action taken and declare the above described property in all things vacated and this'resolution in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further that the City Engineer be instructed to�repad:r a roll showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits to all parties and pr@pe ties, interested in theabove matter Contract for the grade, curb walk and gravel roadway on Donald Street between Michigan and Main Street, was awarded to C. L. Headley. Contract for pipe sewer on Bowman Street from Miami Street to Southeast ✓. addition, was awarded to L. H. Webster, Bond 4nd contract for water connections on Michigan Street from La Salle Avenue to South Street was signed by Win. H. Burke and a -proved by the Board. City Attorney submitted new forms for bonds and contracts to be used by the City, the clerk of the Board was instructed to receive bids for same. Resolutions for the oiling of streets in the City was submitted by the City Attorney. The proposition of oiling streets in the City.was taken up and ✓ discussed by the Board. The Board suggested that they defer this matter until Tuesdy July 18th.,19160 at which time they would discuss the buying of oil and oiling the streets this year and pay for it out of City funds. Concerning the improvement of the roadway of 1st. alley west of Main Street from Monroe Street to South Street with Asp!dilt, Asphaltic Concrete, Brick or Bithulithic in pursuance to Resolution No. . this being the day set for rece&ng and opening bids, the Board at 10:00 otclock A.M. publicly opened read and considered all bids. And thereupon the Board designated the kind of pavement with which said street is to be improved and fixes the 24th. day of July 1916 as the d$te time when petitions must be filed, and the Board hereby continues this matter until the 25h day of July 1916 at 10:00 A.M. and all bids are hereby referred to the City Engineer for tabulation and re;�ort as to the lawest and best bid.
