Mr. C. D. Emmons General Manager of the Chicago, South Bend & Northern
✓ Indiana. Ry. Company and Mr. Hardy of same company appeared before the Board in person
and asked for are extension of their sidetrack in their freight yard off of Columbia
Street all as per red line shown on blue print filed this date. The Board after
hearing a discussion.: -The same -was grunted by the Board.
Contract for the water taps on Michigan Street from La Salle Avenue to
South Street, was awarded to Wh. H. Burke for the amount of ..... $ 4,446.82.
Bond. and contract for the construction of pavement on 1st. alley north of
La Salle Avenuefrom llft old gan Street to Main Street and 1st. alley west of Michigan
Street from La Salle Avenue to Madison Street under Improvement Resolution. No. 440
signed by C. H. De Frees and approved by the Board.
The following recommendation of the Street Commissioner was approved
by the Board.
To the Board of Public Works.
Would recommend widening of the space on the turn of
✓ street at Circle "eme crossing Old three I. R.R. at W. Washington Avenue also
N.W. corner of Sample Street and Lincoln Way East. Curb to be set back by H.N.
Barnes and pavement filled in by Street Dept.

I am herewith returning the proposed contract between the City of South
Bead and the St. Joseph Heating Company, and I advise you that I have examined the
same and do not fixed any legal objections to it. It merely extends the district
to be occupied by the company without a change of ary other terms or onditions. As to
whether or not it should be entered into a purely a question of business for your-
selves to determine.

manholes and install one-two multiple laterals on the north sideof the Logan Street
