In regard to complaint received -of sand and dirt on sidewalks the follow— ing persons were ordered notified by letter to clean the same. Pole and wire inspector reported as following on complaint about broken pole at the southwest corner of Lafayette Street and Tutt Street and the Board approved of his. repoit"t. This is a Home Telephone Company pole and should be reset at once as it is broken off at the ground and is held only by the trees on the top of the pole. Miss Thelka Sack appeared before the Board in regard to a watertrough which stands in front of a business house owned by them at 209 E: Jefferson Blvdj and presented a letter requesting that the wane be removed. City of Chicago, Ill., for the construction of Asphalt pavement on Indiana Avenue in the City of . , South. Bead, I nd lax.*_ ,AND MT.REAS, the said Const`ruetion „Company has mado''spplieation to. the_ St, Joseph Loam and Trost Company for certain loans of money to made during the period' ©f the ,constructionfor the purpose of. purchasing material and employing labor used in the construction of the said street paving, and to secure the paym At to the said St . Joseph Loan & Tru:7.t Company for money loaned as aforesaid, the said W. B. racer Con struetion Company has assigned and it does hereby transfer and assign to the said St.. Joseph. Loan and Trust Company all right., title rid interest in and to the said con— tracts made with the City' of South: Bend., Indiana,_ for the construction of the said improvement and to any and all allowances made for labor and material used _in the con— struction and for all amounts that may be due or ;owing at any time upon the aforlsaid contract, an the City Controller of the City of South Bends Indiana' is hereby rcquestd to Issue all wa rrant s and t o deliver all bonds issued on said imp roveme rat to the said St. Joseph Loan and Trust Company aforesaid, and the receipt of said Trust CompazW therefor shall fully and completely- release the said City of South Bend,from any and all liability,on account of such delivery of said warrants and bonds to the said Trust Company, IT IS UNDERSTOOD AND AGREED that as the work progresses and the Engineers certificates are issued therefor, that the said Trust Company will loan to the said Construction Company such amounts of r.oney as may be desired up to the amount of such Engineer's certificates, at 5% interests and payable at the time of the delivery of the money and beds from the City upon .the completion of the said work. Resolved by the Board of Public Woks of the City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not adapted or intended for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is , hereby ordered in and along Frances Street from South Bend Avenue to a point 100 feet north of the north line of Soria Street as follows, to -wit; - Beginning at the denter lime of South Bend Avenue and Frances Street; thence south along the center line of Frances Street to the eente�r''of Campau Street with a 15 inch vitrified pipe sewer; thence still south along the c center line of said Frances Street to a point 100 feet north of the north line of Soria Street. WEBER Resolved, by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend., County of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and adapted only for local use by the property holders holders whose pro perty abuts thereat, and not intended or adapted for' receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is hereby ordered in and along Miami Street from Fox Street to Ewing Avenue as follows, to -wit :- Beginning at the intersection of the center line' of Miami Street and Fbx Street , running east - from Miami Street thence south along the center line of Miami Street to the center line of Ewing Avenue running east from Mia mi Street with a 22inch vitrified pipe sewer. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed May ilst. 1916 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that the asse sment roll filed May 31st.91916. and the final estimate allowed May 31st., 1916 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Property ownerd appeared beofre the Board remonstrating against the Chicago, Lake Shore and South Bend Ry. Company hauling freight over W. La Salle Avenue. (Mr. Zeltn r, r olds, Mr. ort and Mr. Prest and Reynolds,) The Bard informed these people that matter mid be taking up at a joint meeting of the Board of Public Works and the Common Council. Mr. Lunstrom of the Northern Heating Company appeared before the Board and requested permission to cut into E. La Salle Avenue so as to run heating maim over`the School from church property. The Board granted the same with the understanding that Mr. Lungstwom was to file a letter or blue print showing how work was to be done with the City Civil Engineer. Petition for a light on south Lafayette Street just south of Indiana Avenues filed by Councilman- Goebel. The- Board °placed the sq.me on file to investigate.
