Bids were received, opened and read for pavement on Keasey Street from Michigan Street to Carroll Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 407. The same were referred to the City Rngineer for tabulation to be reported on at 7.45 P.M. this 2nd.. day of May 1916. Bids were received, opened and read for water connections on Indiana Avenue from Leer Street to Prairie Avenue. The sane were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation. Bids were received, opened and read for water connections on Niles Avenue from Co Street- to Howard Street. Same referred to the Engineer for tabulation to be reported on at 7:45 P.M, Mr. Warner of the St. Joseph Heating Company appeared before the Board and discussed the matter of installing taps on Michigan Street. Atty. Meyers and Pres. C. N. Wilcoxen of the Chicago, Lake Share and South Bend Ry. Company appeared before the Board in regard to installing a freight depot in this City. - The Board instructed them to draw up a contract and submit the same to the Board. Petition for pavement on North Francis Street from East Wavne Street ✓to East Sorin Street received and referred to the City Engineer for investigation. Petition for pavment on alley between Miami Street and Lafayette Street from Monroe Street to 1st, al -ley south cunning east and west, referred to the City; ✓ Engineer for investigation. Hearing, had on Improvement Resolution No. 429 for curb ani walk on south side of Ewing Avenue from Michigan Street to St. Joseph Street. In the- City of South Be ld, Indiana. Upon said hearing one remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance w� s filed. And the Board. ,being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, f-_ni thereupon takes final °action on s id resolution as modifieli- To cut off from east and 134.7 lineal feet of sidewalk, curb to run as per specifications on same., and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices ibe published on the 5th. day of May 1916 and on the 12th. day of May 1916 in a newspaper of general ci rcula ti o n in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 23rd. day of May 1916. Th Board reserves the right to reject any and all. bids. Hearing°heal on improvement resolution No.- 427 forpavementwith gravel, grading and curb and walk on Logan Street from Leland Avenue to Scott. Street. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board being fully advised in the remises decides that tnebenefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements �re equal to the estimated cost of the sate, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confi zmed and Appro ved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 5th. day of May 1916 and on the 12th. day of May 1916 ina newspaper of general circulation in said City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement , up to 10 :00 A?M, on the 23rd. da ynof May 1916. The Board reserves the right to re je ct any and all bids. In therwtter of pavementon Fuerbringer Street from Cottage Grove Avenue to Sherman Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No..377, this being the date said hearing was deferred to, The Board having said matter under advisement find that the remonstrance filed April 13th.,1915 should be sustained and that the resolution should be and the same is hereby and in all things rescinded. In the matter of deferred hearing on Elmer Street from Mayrts Michiga Avenue Addition to Keller Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 4113, the same was deferred until Tue s day May 9t h.1916 at s7::45 P.M. The Eoard deferred all action on said improvement until Tuesday May gth. ,1916. at 7:45 P.M. Olerk instructed to call up petition curb and walk on Lafayette Street from Broadway to Indiana Avenue May gth.,1916. for consid iration. Engineer filed asses_ment roll and final estimate for water 'JOormeetion on Leeper Avenue from Howard Street to Angella Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 411. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved, that noices as to the amounts of assessments as requested by statute be published on the 5th. day of May 1916 and on the 12th. day of May 1916 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 16th. day of May 1916 at 7:45 P-M. Resolved, further that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimated thereon allowed. Notice of this resolu— tion shAn be published on the 5th. day of May 1916 and on the 12-th. day of May 1916 in the South bend Daily Tribunes stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of ouch work at its office in the City Hall on t- t 16th. day of May 1916 at 7w:45 P.M* 126 The City Engineer filed with the Boa rd,the tabulation of bids on the improvement of Keasey Street with pavement. Also the tabulation of bids on w ter connections on Indiana Avenue and on Niles Avenue. Concerning the improvement .of the roadway of keasey Street from Michigan Street to Carroll Street with Asphalt, Asphaltic Concrete, Bithulithic, or Brick; in pursuance to resolution No. 407, this being the clay for receiving and opening bids, the Board at 10.00 A.M. publicly opened, read and considered all bids. And thereupon the Board designated Asphaltic Concrete as the kind of pavert:ent with which said street is to be improved and fixes the 13th. day of May 191E at 10:00 A.M.. as the time when petitions must be filed, and the Board hereby continues this ratter until the 13th. day of May 1916 at 10:00 A.M. and all b-ds were .referred to the City Engineer for tabula.ation and he has reported the lowest and best bid.
