Barnes City Contractor to out curb at alley between Notre Dame Avenue and St. Peter Street on Howard Street. Also to repair defective curb on Franklin Street wherfeaver needed according to. instructions from the City Engineer. The Board ap? ointed the following s Board of Examiners for the Ass ittant Electrician. .Fred Andf-rson, Chairman. Ennis R. Austin, H., G. Christman, Emerson- Ringer, and Wm. Williams. Friday March 31,1916. �resident Board met in regular. sessionnat 10:00 A.M. fir. A. if. Rice absent. Mr. Klopper appeared before the Board and filed a petition for the vacation of the alley 10 feet wide being be south- 10 feet of the north 45-1/2 feet of lots Nos. 74,75 and 76 in Oak Park Secnd Addition to the City of South Bend, Iiidiana. The Board ordered a resolution prepared on said petition. Bond and contract signed by H. N. Barnes for repairing and construction sidewalk on Various Streets in the City was approved by the Board. Complaint of pole at the south west corner of Carroll Street and Broadway. Reported on by the Pole and Wire Inspector,Thomns H. Beaning as follows: — Those two poles are Home Telephone Company poles at Broadway and should be removed. The pole at the alley north on Carroll Street should be resett close to the curb. Also three Home Telephone Company's poles on Sadie Street with no wires on should be removed at the 200 block. The Board approved of the -above report. Complaint of Councilman Paul E. Wolters of defective walk in front of Vernon Clothing ComparW on South Michigan Street, reported on by the Street Commissioner as follows: Mr. George Witwer said H. G. Christman & Co. has contracted to repair the above. Complaint about Home Telephone Company pole in front of 906 Golden Avenuet reported by the Pole and Wire Inspector,Thomas H. Beaning as follows: — This is a Home Telephone Company guy pole. The Telephone Company must have a guy there but by placing a slug in the ground farther to the west, then this pole should be removed. The Home Telephone Co. foreman, ir. Williams has agreed to do this work as requested.
