Mr. H. M. Romberg, Special Agent of the Azneri can Telephone and Telegraph
Company appeared before the Board and presented the following::petWtions *.i:ch were -recom-
mended by the; Bole and Wire Inspector and approved by the Board.
To replace certain poles end to place certain guys on East McKinley Street
east of Eddy Street, and on Prairie Avenue, south of the Lake Shore Railydad.
Pole #17552, now a 45 ft pole equipped with a P.&P Brace. Replace this pole
with a 45 ft, pole "A" located 4 ft. ahead on line account curb. Acid forward, back and side
anchors. Remove P.&P. brace. a
Pole #17560, add. forward anchor.
Pole #17650, add anchor to stub and install pole guy forward.
Pole #17653, now a 45 ft. pole. Replace with a 45 ft. "A" pole, same location.
Pole #17657, now e 50 ft. pole. Replace with a 50 :fit. "A" pole, same location
and add forward and back anchors.

Pole #17669, now a 40 ft. pole. Move 9 ft. back to a point inside the curb,
ceount street improvements.
Pole° #17659, now r 40 ft,. pole. Replace with a 45 ft. "A" pole, same location

Also perlission to replace the present poles numbered 25 &-rid 34 ind usiv;e

Permission granted the Central Union Telephone Company to set tie following;

To set one 259 pole and anchor on the south side of Corby Street just east of

To set one 25T pole.and anchor on the north side of Corby Street between

Mr. V. H. Frank of the Indiana & 14idl igan Elea. Company appeared before the
oard and presented a contract which was rejected by the Board and the following letter
as ordered sent to the above mentioned company.

Regarding the price of the 100_C.P. or 100 Watt lights in the underground
istrict, we construe the contract to mea n a price of twenty-six ($26.00)Dollars, and we

Atty. Jellison with Mr. Birner appeared before the Board in regard to

Concerning the improvement of the roadway of LaSalle Avenue at the
southeast corner of La Porte Avenue,' asphalt, asphaltic concrete, wooden cedar blcickn Bitu3.-
ithic or briek in pursuance to resolution No:. 313 this being the_ .day for receiving and
opening bids, the Board, at 10:00 A.4. publicly opened and read and considered bids.

which said street is to be improved and fixes the the 27tho day of December 1915
as *he time When petitions must be filed, and t to Board hereby continues the matter
until the 27th. day of December 1915 at 10:00 A.M. and all bids are he-eb y referred.
to the City Engineer for tabulation and report as to the lowest and best bid. On the
day above named the Board will either pass on petitions let said co ntract or reject all
bids'.
Communication and report of aecident to George Mueller was presented to
the Board by Joan F. DeVine, attorney for the above, and tine saute was referred to the
City Attorney. a
The following communication was received from the National Heating Compa-YW ,read and
placed on file'.
We propose to furnish and install 200 ft. of radiation including all
pipe, fittings, valves, etc., required for all connections., To set and place radiatin
in room now used as garage in City building. All fffo r the swn of One Hundred and Five
($105.00)Dollars.

Dollars for the excavation of streets. Which bond was executed and delivered on said. date,
to the City of South Bend, Indiana, and vtAch bond was made in favor of Christian Aichele
as p ;incipal snd the Globe Indemnity Company Ls surety, hereby releasing and discharging
the said Christian Aichele and the Globe Indemnity Company from any and all further li b ility
on said bond.

Hearing had on assessment roll fod final estimate for Brick pavement on
Franklin Street from Samp3„e Street to Indiana Avenue, under Improvement Resolution
No. . 399.. In the, City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the Rbove matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were
riled. The Board therefore find that the, property assessed in said rolls Filed
November 23rd..1915 is benefited in the amount of assessments as Eh own on said rolls,
and the Board Further fin d. that the assessment roll filed November 2.3rd.1915 and the
final estimate allowed November 23rd.1915 shouldbe and the same are hereby in all
things, ratified, confirmed and approved.

Th the matter of the Widening of Indiana Avenue and Webster Street
under Condemnation Resolution No. 39: the Board held up their decision on some
until Tuesday March 29th.,191E at 7:45 P.M. (Clerk instructed to notify p*erty
owl ers affected by cards two weeks in advance of hea-^ing. )
In regard to matter of vacation of 4ft. of rear of lot 35 O.P. South
Band, the same was deferred until Tuesday December 21st.21915 at 7:45 P.M.
Clerk instructed to call up petition for sidewalk and curb on West I
'Indiana Avenue the lst. meeting on April 1916.
Petition received and placed on file for a lig"tit at southeast corner of
Pleasant Street and loth. Street River Park.
City Engineer presented blue prints of corner of South Bend Avenue
f and Corby Street improvement. Same to be taken up at 1st. meetng in April,
1916.
Plat of Weber's Second Addition to Roselawn in South Part of S.W.
1/2 of N.W. 1/4 of Sec. 25 Tp . 39 N.R. 2 E. was approved by the Board.
Mr. Hirsch and Mr. Willard representing the Central Union Telephone
Company appeared before the Board and dicussed the underground vork.

LOCAL SEWER IMPROVEMENT RESOIsUTION N0.414.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, County of
Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and adapted
ly for local use by the pr operty holders whose property abuts thereon, and not inteded
adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is hereby ordered
and along Caroline Street from the Southerly line of Lincoln Way East to the center line of
