Representative of the South Beni Creamery Co. appeared before the Board
and requested permi_- lion to build a well under alley Where t e i r building is now being con-
structed. No. permission was gran ted by the Board.
Mr. Elmer C. Daicey of the South Bend Home TeAep lore Company with Atty.
Dinnen appeared before tb.e Board and presented a sample of cable that he requester per-
mission to use, also letter From engineer's on the same. 'He requested that the Board
grant the following things:-'
1. Extansion of time.
_ 2..Amendment to Ordinance #11680 covering aerial construction on diverging
avenues.
3. Resoiution of Council authorizing ley ing of cable without -conduit on
unpaved streets and alleys. t
The Board took tie " above matters under adttsement.
Mr. C. N. Wilcoxen Pres't. and Genf 1. Mgr.. of the Chicago, Lake Shore
and South Bend Ry. Company and 11r. Leiwis Meyers Atty. for same appeared befori=the Board
and request them to make a trip to investigate the tract of '.and at the southeast corner of
La Porte Avenue and La Salle Avenue. The Board adjourned at 11:50 to look over same.

Hearing given on rolls f'o awards and assessments of benefits in the matter
of Widening of Webster Street from Prairie Avenue to Indiana Avenue and Indiana Avenue
fvom Prairie Avenue to Webster Street, under Condemnation Resolution No. 39. In the
City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter remonstrators appeared and a written remonstrance was
filed sig-ned by twenty eight property owners. The Board diter due consideration
de-ci -Pto take the above matter under advisement until Tuesday December 14ta.11915
at 7:45 P.M. (Atty. R. T. Billerappeared representing Mrs. L. Hoover and remon-
strated against her assessments)

Bids received at 10:00 A.M. this 7tiL. day of December 1915 an6 %hich were
deferred until this matting were opened and the contract for water connections on
Kea.sey Street and Leeper Avenue were awarded to Fred P. Futter.
The following communication was received and &,proved by the Board.

Gentlemen: -
I Marvin Berlin would ask permission to tap the sever on Harrison
Ave. and run up the alley south of the Colfax School from Harrison to the inter-
section of the alley south of Harrison Ave, for the purpose of connect; on to a
bath room that I have placed in nq dwelling in rear of lot. The front of this lot
is owned by other parties. I will agree that if the Board grants permission I will
give up my interest in this sewer to the City of South Bend so it can be used for
public purpose.
MARVIN G. BERLIN.
Petition received for a brick pavement to be put in in the spring of
✓ 1916 on Calvert Street from Aiami Street to HigYl Street. The Board placed said
petition on file until the lst. meeting in March91916.
Cemetery Sexton filed financial report to date.
Communication received. from Indiana & Michigan Electric Company
in regard to SO C.P. light on North Shore Drive from Michigan Street %a east to
✓ Lafayette Street to being changed to 100 C.P. lights. Same placed on file.
The Board ordered that these lights be changed from SO Watt lights to
✓ 100 Watts.
Communication received from B.J Jeup Civil Engineer of Indianapolis,
Indiana regarding the laying of cable. The same was read and placed on file.
The City Engineer filed the following report.
A tap installed by Lewis Webster in 1906, at 2213 Lincoln Way West
(Lot 142 Mayer's Michigan Ave. Add.) is only six feet and one inch deep at the curb
line. The owner of the property wishes this tap lowered as it is too high for hiIC,
to use. The tap was put in under city contract, and I, -rrequested Mr. Webster to
lower it, but he has declined to do any with the matter. Same filed to be taken
UP at meeting Wednesday December Sth. ,1915 at 11 A.M. Clerk instructed to
notify Mr. L. Webster to be present at said meeting.
Deferred hearing had on rolls of wwards of damages and assessments of
✓ benefits in the matter of Widening of Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue from
Jefferson Blvd. to east line of Pottawatomie Park under Condemnation Resolution
No. .8. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared having filed written
remonstrances in the above matter and no further remonstrators .appeared nor filed
written remonstrances except J. M. Studebaker who filed a written remonstrance Novembe
20th.,1915 and said remonstrances is considered and the assessments of benefits and
damages for and against the property of said Studebaker is hereby modified as followt
Beginning at a point on the south line of Jefferson Boulevard 190 feet east of the
west line of Section 7 Tp. 37 N.R. 2 E. thence south parallel with. and 190 feet

Resolved, that the entire work done under the above resolution
and the contract let thereunder be in all things accepted and approved and that said final
estimate be allowed, Resolved further that notices in form required by law be published
on. the lothe day of De cer^be r 1915 and on the 17th. clay of De cube r 1915, in the South Bend
Daily Tribune , a ne%5paper of general eirculuation in this City, setting and fixing the
4th. day of January 1916 at 7:45 P914- at the o_'fice of this Board in the City Hall, South
Bend, Indiana, as the time and place when this Board will receive and hear remonstrances
against the amounts assessed against each of the lots and parcels of land on said roll,
and will hear and determine whether such lots and parcels of ?and will be specially bene-
fited by said improvement by the amounts stated and set forth in said roll.
