J. Slot for pipe sewer on Dunham Street was requested by him to be released and withdrawn before opening of same,, because of error he had made in figuring manhole covers and in order to avoid any possible trouble in the carrying out of contract with either the City or the contractor the Board ordered said bid withdrawn and check returned. P. lights on drive in Pott owat omie Park. Same held up until Wednesday July 21st.,1920, at 7:15 P.M. The Board ordered that the City Attorney be requested to notify the New Jersey Ry. Co. to plank Huron Street crossing. ° The Board ordered that the White Contruction Company be notif*ed to clean up intersections .on Miami Street, Lincoln Way East and Vernon Street, so people can pass freelys along these streets and to keep material used for construction of streets in- intersections and not on vain streets. Mr. Conroy of the Indiana Bell Telephone Company appeared before the Board in regard to underground dip work in South Bend in outlying districts. The Board adv is ed Mr. Conroy to have duplicate, agreements drawn by his company and present same to the Board before any work will be .started. Petition filed for pavement on Fast Miner Street from St. Louis Blvd. to St. Peter Street. Same placed on file. The Board ordered seven boulevard lights in Pottowatomie Park and 3-100 C.P. lights over Winnie Ovens according to blue print. All overhead lights. Communication received from L. T. He irman of Syeaeuse, Indiana in regard to damages t o machine on a c ount of barricades not being up at Michigan Streit pavement. Bill of $1.50 covering same filed. This matter referred to the White Construction Company for settlement. W. D. Teeple submitted form to be.used to notify Builders and Owners for inspection work. Same approved by the Board and Board ordered Building Commissioner to sign said form instead of Board of Public Works. The Board ordered that a notice be sent to replace brick walk on La Porte Avenue next south and adjoining Lot 55 Cobbs Sub -of Bank Out Lot No. 30. Permission granted the Indiana Bell Tel. Company for underground work in alley east of St. Joseph Street from Jefferson Blvd. to Warne Street. Communi:-ation regeived from the International India Rubber .Company in regard to fire aleam box at corner of Ewing Avenue and Lafayette Street. Same referred to Safety Board. . Clerk instructed to notify property owner to see Indiana & Michigan Electric Co. about removing same. Lincoln Way West to Vassar Avenue, under Improvement Resolu- tion No. 783. In the City of South Bend,Indiana•. Resolved that notices as to the assessments be published on the 21st. day of July 1920 and on the 28th. day of July 1920. in the South Bend Daily -,Tribune stating that this Board will give a hearing. on the amount of puch assessments ats its office in the City Hall on the 4th. day of August 1920, at 7: 15 P.M. Resolved that the entire work under"the above contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Engineer filed assessment roll and -final estimate for water connections on Cleveland Avenue from Licnon Way West to Diamond Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 785. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved that notices as to the assessments be published on the 21st. day of July 1920 and on the 28th. day of July 1920 in the South Bend Daily Tribune stating that this Board wil-1_ give a hearing at its office in the City Hall on the `4th. day of August 1920 at 7:15 P.M. Concerning the Improvement of the roadway of°Beale Street from Portage Avenue to Kessler Blvd. with asphalt, asphaltic concrete b itul ithic concrete or brick pursuance to resolution No. the Board finds that no petition has been filed with the said Board by &majority in number of the freeholders residing on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different kind of pavement shah the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order. and the City Engineer reports that the Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder for the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board find that the said W-illiston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets said contract for said improvement to him, and orders that said improvement be made with Triidad Lake Asphaltic concrete at Mexican Asphaltic concrete price as requested by Contractor and all proceedings heretofore had in, this matter are hereby c6nf irmed and ratified, G: A.
