All the above bids wwre referred to the Engineer for tabluation to be
reported on Wednesday July 14th. ,1920. at 7: 15 P.M.
F. M. Caldwell appeared before the Board in regard to payment for
sewer tap on North Michigan Street. No action taken on same.
Ed. Zeitler, Highway Superintendent of the St. Joseph County Road
Department met with the Board and it was verbally agreed that the County repair
Prairie Avenue from the and Of the present pavement to the City Limits and to
present the bill to the City for said repairs. The Board instructed the Street
Commissioner to supervise the work.
The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Mr. M. Kinseherff to be
present at meeting to be held Wednesday July 14th. , 1920 at 8: 00 P.M. in the office
of the Board in regard to permits for installation of furnaces.
Bids were received for pavement on alley west of Main Street from
Marion Street to Mad is on Street as follows: -

All of the above bids were referred to the City Engineer for
tabulation to be reported on at 7: 15 P.M. Wednesday July 14th. ,1920. at 7: 15 P.M.
Communication received from the P-rk Board requesting that
lights be placed along drive in Pottowatomie Park and also over o vans.
This matter referred to Beaning Pole and Wire Inspector to examine the condition
above mentioned and place 3-100 C. P. lights over the ovens as dds fired by the Park
Board.
Board ordered a special session held Friday July 16th. ,1920. Appraisers
on the Widening of Ewing Avenue to be present.
Contract for water connections on Jefferson Blvd. from Sgnnys ide
Avenue to 121.9 feet west ti8 Greenlawn Avenue was awarded to Jos. Luther at $29002.05
Contract for pavement on north Shore Drive from Lafayette Blvd. to
Ir ociuo is Street was awarded to Highways Material Co. at....... $11,780.20
Concerning the improvement of the roadway of '_North Shore Drive
from Lafayette Blvd. to Iroquois Street with Asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithic,
concrete, or brick, pursuance to resolution No. 770 the Beard finds that no petitions
has been filed with said Board by a majority in number of the freeholders res id ing
on said street to be improved requesting that it be improved with a different kind of
pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order;
and the City Engineer reports that the Highways Materials Company is the lowest and
best bidder for the kind of pavement heretofore adopted by the Board, and the Board
find . that said Highways Material Company is the lowest and best bidder and hereby
lets the contract for said improvement to him, and orders that said improvement be
made with Water Bound Macadam and all proceedings heretofore made had in this matter
are hereby c onf irmed and ratified.
