In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no written remora strnetee was filed. The Board: therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed . June 2nd ,1920.xxxd is benef it4d in the amount of assessments as shown n said assessment roll and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed June 2nd. ,1920 and the final est imaie allowed June 2nd. ,1920 should be and the same are hereby in all things, ,ratified, confirmed and approved Hearin; had on assessment roll and final estimate for water connections on Diamond Avenue from: North line of Cushing 'Ifs Add it ion to Portage Avenue, dnder Improvement Resolution No. 768. Deferred hearing had on resolution for the pavement on Frances Street from Cedar Street to the St. Joaeph River, under Improvement Resolution No. 789. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. City Engineer reported on remonstrance and in regard to resident freeholders on said street,_and feports that rerr6 stbanoe:filed_•does no contain a ma3, jor ity of names of resident freeholders. Remonstrance filed by the Cyr-ioago, South. bend & Northern Indiana Railway Company sustained by the' Board and res olutio is hereby modified to read from Cedar Street to North Rail of the Grand Trunk Railroad Company tracks, and the Board, being fully advised iu. the premises, dec ides that the property owxxx liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City C iv it Engineer, and there- upon takes final action on said resolution as modified, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed andapproved. Chicago, South Band & Northern Indiana Railway Company and a number of interested property owners appeared before the Board, Also Councilman Olejmic$ak and 97isniowski. Property owners insisted on pavement being put in under present contract; but would like to have- street car company exten. the Sample Street car line to Olive Street.._ Attorney Crumpacicer of Sanders and EgUert appeared and.1stated that Company would like o see. this pavement put in. under this contract. . The Boards _read: the White Construction Company petition to the interested parties present. After a lengthy discussion on this matter, the Board- advised Mr., R. R. Smith Mgr. Chicago, South Band &, Northern Indiana Railway Companyto gat information from.the Oliver Chilled Plow Works about their plans for expansion out Sample Street to Olive Street and if same, would require the extnnddng of°car tracks out to Olive Street ;and file same with the Beard, and the Board agreed to defer this hearing until Wednesda,tl%, July; 14th.,1920 at 7: 15 P.M. The Board awarded the contract for pipe to Bruno De 'Peape at.....................$3,16950 sewer on Poland Street 714 I Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Bea,la, Street from Portage Avenue to Kessler, Blvd. with asphalt, asphaltic concrete., 'bitulith-1,, or brick, .in pursuance to resolution No, 774 this being the day set for the making the preliminary order des ignat ing the kind of pavement, the Board 'at 10:00 A.-.M.
