SOUTH BEND'S WEST WASHINGTON NEIGHBORHOOD
LISTED AMONG 2012 BEST PLACES TO LIVE
South Bend The third time was a charm. After three nomination attempts,the City of
South Bend's West Washington neighborhood has landed among the 2012 Best Places to
Live list from This Old House magazine.
Last year, Sue Solmos,Residential Marketing Specialist with the Department of
Community&Economic Development and Elicia Feasel,Assistant Director for the
Historic Preservation Commission,nominated South Bend for the prestigious
recognition. The announcement came one week ago when This Old House released its
list of 2012 Best Places to Live.
"We felt good when we put the presentation together and were delighted that they chose
South Bend," said Solmos. "The West Washington neighborhood was the only
neighborhood chosen in the Midwest this year."
