M..All members present, Hearing had . on.assessment roll Cnd final estimate for sheet asphalt ' -pavement on Studebaker Street from Linden Avenue to La Porte Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 652. IN the City of 'South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written - remonstrance was filed. The. Bard therefore Lind that the property assessed in said, roll filed November 18th. ,1919 is benef itted In the amount of assessments as shown on said assessment roll and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed November l8th. ,1919 and the final estimate allowed November 1pth..,1919 should be and the same Is hereby in all things,. rattified, conPirmed and approved. And the Board ordired the City Controller to withhold the scum of'$250.00 out of funds owing the Contractors on this improvement until, the necessaary repairs are made, Re►presentativess -of the -South Bend Canon Club appeared before the Board with the f ollowin property owners, H. F. Armstrong, 735 E. Bronson St J. B. Hier 739 E. Bronson Street, Wm. M. Garfield 733 Bronson Street and Gilbert R. Archambeault_ of 740 E. Bronson Street and sevarsul'other property owners. Members- of the Canoe Club that theey wanted.to move club house to property, owned by City,,,, property owners stated that they d)id not object to this. The Board agreed to write a letter. in regerd .t o the permission n. to set club house on, City property.. Communication recevved from Kale & Bryan Co. in regard to price on signs for offices in the City Hall at $5. 00 each. Same read and placed on file. Communication received from E. H. Potter, Agt. Now York Central ry. Co. stating that the crossing at Walnut axd 'Ford Streets had been completed November 20t'h. ,1919. Samp read and placed on file. Resolved further, that the a tires work under th above contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. 314 Councilman Goebel appeared before the Board and stated that the Goa Company was going to lay maims in Lafayette Street from Gsarst to Stull St, and requested that they be notified to lay sushi Maine in alkey east of Lafayette Street. Of the Gas Company, auto meeting Tuesday December 9ths ,1919, at 10 00 SIM, Councilman Goebel also took up the matter of Beet ing bids for the re -des; prat ing of the City Hall as the Runic ipal. + Lesgue would hold their regular session in June of .1920 in South Bend. the Board agfPe*d to hake up this matter, Councilman Goebel stated that the Coune il' would l allow the °money to des the same. M P.ET.IT.T0N We the undersigned property owners, hereby petition your Board to vacate .Walnut Strut from -Indiana Av'enu& to Sample Street in the City of South B—end,. and hereby agree that in the event Walnut -Street as above described, is ` vacated 'are agree to the; opening of Pulaaki, Street from Indiana Avenue to Sample Street and agree to dedicate same to the Dubl ie nsi a 50 foot street. We further agree to " Install grade,' curb and walk' under proper resolution of the Board of Public Works. The Board took no action on sad Plate presented or on said petit ion for the ' resc ind ing of plat approved in my 1916, but read said . petit ion and placed ' same ON file.. The Beard decided to t ke no , action on the rose ind ing of `first plat 'of OTiver's second Add it ion, until after the proceedings of Walnut Street Vacation were closed. ' The City Engineer had up the mat Company for extras on Lincoln Way West pavement agreed to -not allow this amount of a bill of the White constr. rovement. The Board unanimously President.
