Gentlemen: -
As your Board, undoubtedly knows, this company will soon put one man cars
in cp erat ion on the _South-Mich_lgan and Washington .-Miami Lines.
On account of. the frequency of the service, it has been, decided to place
a flagman at the Lake Shore Railroad orodsdAg on outh Michigan Street. It will be
necessary to provide game sort of shelter for the ,use of the flagman and the, only
available location for such shelter seems to be between the side*a-kland the curb on the
east side of Michigan Street about opposite the present location of the tower which
is maintained by the New York Central Railroad. his house will be small, of good
construct ion ,and will not obstruct in any manner the sidewalk or street traffic, andwe,
hereby repesectfully request the permission Of your Board to establish such a mouse,
it being understood that as noon as the grade crossing is eliminated the house will be
removed*
Yours very truly*
