A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
June 6, 191.{.9 at 10:00 A.I�. All members were present . Minutes of the
last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of
�51, 312.67 were approved and ordered paid. Claims of the following
suppliers in the amount of �931.86 were approved and ordered paid: "

FIRE DEPARTi�IENT: Chief AndrzeJewski was present and matters pertaining
to his department were discussed.
Applications for the Fire Depart�nt were examined and ordered
filed for Ervin George Derda, Robert Peter Loughlin and Helmuth Alfred
Holke.
The following members of the Fire Department tendered their resig-
nations from the Department effective July 1, i949� Percy Alford, Claude
D. Hay �and Hubert Rosewicz. Tha Board accepted said resignations.
POLICE DEPARTM�NT: ._ _ Chief Trevey was present and matters pertaining to
his department were discussed,
An application for the Police Department was examined and ordered
filed for H otiaard Raymond Bunch.
Kenneth J. Taube and 2�fitchell 24brris� representing the Lion"s Club� ��
asked per�ission to sell �rhite cane tags for the blind on the City Streets '
on June 25th, 19�+9. The tags are to be sold by the nenbers of the Lions
Club organization only. Permission was granted.
�dilliam Ellis and Plalter Washington� representing the Knights of
Pythias� appeared before the Board to ask permission to hold a parae�e on
July lOth� 19'+9, fron the Linden School to the J. D, Oliver playground
bet��reen the hours of 1:30 and �+:30 P. t4. Permission was granted.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTI�TdT: Nir. Ldilliam Qualls� Superintendent� was present and
matters pertaining to his departr.�ent were discussed.
There being no further business to cone before the Board� the meeting

his department were discussed.
Vic Tripple filed a Certificate of Insurance covering plumbing worl: on
the addition to #10 Fire Station.

Carl J. Rienke & Sons £iled a Certificate of Insurance conering the General
contract on the adc�ition to Fire House #10.
POLICE DEPARTt�NT: Chief Trevey was absent. Matters pertaining to his
Departnent were discussed.
A Special Police Bond was approved and ordered filed for Charles 4�. Hensley.
ELFCTRICAL DFPARTi•�NT: Mr_, William Qualls� Superintendent� was present and
matters pertaining to his department were discussed, �
A petition was presentfid asking for the installation of a street light
at Bryan and Cushing Streets. This was referred to rir. Qualls for investi-
' gation and report.
Mrs, Feingold� 106 Laurel Street� presented a petition for a street
light at Jefferson and Laurel Streets, This was referre@ to Mr. Qualls for
investigation and report.
Mr. Qualls recomraended the installation of a street light on City Hall
Court. •
Mr. Qualls reported that the street lights ordered in at the intersection
of Roberts and Ruskin Streets� St. Louis and St. Vincent Streets Hill and
Napoleon Streets� Illinois and Huron Streets� Illinois and Ford S�treets�
Wellington and Huron Streets� Wellington and Ford Streets� Emerson and Hildreth
Streets and a change to a 4000 lumen light at Emerson and Ruskin Streets�
on Donald Street and Douglas� Donald and Arnold and Donald and Oliver Streets
have been installed and are now in service.
There being no further business the come before the Board� the meeting
ad3ourned at 11:45 A. M.
