MAYOR BUTTIGIEG TO HOST MAYOR'S NIGHT IN/OUT PROGRAM
First"Mayor's Night Out"to be held in 2°d Council District
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is hosting monthly Mayor's Night In and Mayor's
Night Out for residents of South Bend, a program that will allow residents to speak
directly to the mayor and department heads about municipal issues.
The Mayor's first Night Out is Tuesday,January 3lst in the city's 2°d council district,
which is represented by Councilman Henry Davis,Jr. The event is open to all residents at
the Charles Martin Youth Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
"Mayor's Night Out is a great way to hear about the issues and address the concerns of
South Bend residents. This is an opportunity to listen to citizens about their ideas and also
tell them more about programs and services in the city. There is no better way than to go
directly to the people," said Buttigieg.
The program will alternate each month between Mayor's Night Out and Mayor's Night
In. During Mayor's Night In,Buttigieg and department heads will be available inside the
County-City Building to listen to residents and address their concerns and questions.
Sign-up is on a first-come, fast-serve basis for five minute discussions with Buttigieg.
The mayor also invited city department representatives from the Fire, Police,Parks &
Recreation, Code Enforcement, Building Works, City Controller, City Attorney, Mayor's
office, and the Common Council. Each department representative is available to answer
questions and address the concerns of city residents.
