A regular neeting of the Board of Public Safety taas held on Monday�
June ']� 19�F8 at 10:00 A.A?. All members were present. P�iinutes of the
last meeting �vere read and approved. Claims of �the follootin� suppliers
in the amount of �1,085.45 were approved and ordered paid:

FIRE DEPAR`rP��NT; Chief Andrzejet�ski was� present and matters pertaining to
his departr�ent were discussed. - �
� The Chief informed the Board that Squad �3 tras damaged,tahen� to avoid
a collision� the driver hit a utility pole, The Board ordered the truck
repaired, - •
� An application for the Fire Departnent olas approved and ordered filed
for Albert Biesbro�cY..
= The Chief inforsed the Board that the following men had successfully
passed their probation period and could now be made regular merabers of the
Department: George Krovitch� Raymond Bikowsl�i� Russell Reece� Daniel �
Radecki� Robert Riba� Theodore Koehler� Gle� BorY.o�asl;i ar.d Alfred Kir�sits.
The Board� upon the Chief's reco��endation� so ordered,
• Chie£ Andrze�ews�:i and three Firemen� Anthony P•Iiller� ldilliam Doran
and Anthnny Prebys� were authorized to attend the State Fire Fighters
Association hleeting in Evansville� Indiana on June l�-� 15 •and 16. • ,
Edmund Olejniczak having passed physical examinations given by the
' City Doctor and the Doctor appointed by the Firemen' s Pension Fur.d Trustees�
is now �ade a prob�tionary nember af the Fi:e Depart�ent� for a period of
six months� during 4rhich time he shall be paid the comFiensation of inen on
a probationary basis� effective June 6� 1948.
POLICE DEPARTi•'�NT: An application for the Police Department was approved
and ordered filed for Robert Lincoln Biber.
FLECTRICAL DEPARTi�:r�i1T: 24r. 47illian Qualls� Superintendent� was present and
matters pertaining to his departMent were discussed.
A petition for a street light on the I�orth��rest corner of Sheridan
Street and Lincoln ?•1ay ��fest was referred to t•Ir. !�ualls for investigation
and report.
Mr, Qualls recommended the installation of a street light at the inter-
section of Dale Avenue and Donmoyer Street� at Huey Street and Linden Avenue
and at College Street :nd Vassar Avenue. The Board� upon his recommendation�
directed hizn to order the lights installed.
1•4r, Qualls reco�Tended the installation of street lights at the in{:er-
section of Calvert and Robinson Streets and Clyde and Altgela Streets� and
the Board directed him to order then in.
' �•]EIGHTS & P�IEASURES: Mr. Charles Burns� City Seaier� presented a letter in
which he informed the Board of an injury he received while in the course of
his duties. No action �•�as taken� but the Board directed him to have an
ex�ination by the City Doctor.
There being no f�rther business to come before the Eoard, the r�eeting
was adjourned at 11:45 A.P-'..
