Harry Y. Heiermann� member of the Fire Department� tendered his
resignation from the Department to beco�e effective April 1� 1948�
after naving servied nore than tt�renty-five years, The Board accepted
his resignation.
.Applications for the Fire Department were approved and ordered filed
for John Peter Kosinski and Russell Ihaight Ryker� Jr.
� A application was received for the Fire DepartMent from E7�!er Franl;
Papai but iras re�ected because he t•ras over 35 years of a�e.
POLICE DisPAR�IETdT: Chief Everett oras present and r�atters pertaining to
his departrlent were discussed,
A pplications for the Police Department .�rere approved and ordered
filed for i�udalph Baloun and James Joseph Lingard, Jr.
The Chief inforMed the Boarc3 that he tiras in need of five neor cars
. for the Police Departnent and the C1erk o£ the Board 1-ras directed to
advertise for same ��rith trade ins of old police cars. Bids to be return-
able on I?arch 29� 19�+8.

A petition �aas received astting for the installation of a street li;ht

The following men having passed physical exar�inations ,given by the
City Doctor and the Doctor appointed by the Firenen's Pension Fund Trustees�
they are noti�r appointed ,as probationary r�e:�bers of the Fire Department for
a period of six r�onths� durin� 1-rhich ti��e they sha11 be ,paid the regular
salary o£ men on a probationary basis: Victor J. Derdak and Jose h �,
Daly. They men were directed to r eport for duty on T;arch 17� 19�+�.
This being the date set for receiving bids for plumbing trork and
remodeling trork in the kitchen o£ Central Fire Station, the follooring '
