FIRE DEPARTPI�NT: Edorard F. James� who oras sent to the Doctor for exam-
inations preparatory to his appoint�aent to the fire Department� upon
the examination of his application arid birth certificate� was found to ,
be overage and was therefore rejected.
An application for the Fire Department was approved and ordered
filed for Clem Anthony Trytko,
The follovring r�en were directed to have physical exa�inations by
the City Doctor and the Doctor appointed by the FireMen' s Pension Fund
Trustees preparatory to their appoint�ent to the Fire Department: Victor
Derdak� Stanley Zielsinski and Edtrard HosinsY,i.
The follo�ring men having passed physical exaininations given by the
City Doctor and the Doctor zppointed by the riremen' s Pension Fhnd Trus-
tees are now appointed as probationary members of the Fire Department for
a period of six �onths� during which time their salary will_be that of
r�en on a probationary basis: Edrsund RadecY.i� Benedict ICoorals�:i� Rudolph
J. Orisich and Harry T. Lioskvrinski. These men were directed to report
for duty i�4arch �-� 19�+8 excepting Ednund Radecki who �ras to r eport I:arch
3, 19�+8.
The clerk of the Board having asked for estiraates for tile work to
be done at the Central Fire Station� the follot•ring estimates taere Re-
ceived: I4ichiana iile and 24arble Company� :a�-00.00; Cald�rell 2iarble and
Tile Co�pany� �600.00 and The Art I�:osaic & iile Cor�pany �v652.00. The
bid of the I•iichiana Tile and T4arble Company tiaas accepte�d. ' '
The ClerY. lras directed to advertise for one one-half ton truck for
the Fire Depart�nent.
Ne1a contract forms' for fire service to the toymships having been
completed� the Clerk tiras directed to mail said contract for�ns to the
toomship trustees of the various toomships who desire fire service.

An application for the Police Depart�ent was approved and ordered

at the intersection of Roger and Goodland Streets, This was referred to
P4r. �?ualls for investi�wtion and report.
i.r. Qualls informed the t3oard that street lights ordered in at Colfax
, and Spruce� St. Joseph and Dubail� High and 4loodside� and on T�ryckenhan
Drive betz�reen Fairvieor and Ecla�an� in the alley at the rear of IIillcrest
Drive and at the �alley intersection betlreen Ilain and I�IickLi.gan at Dayton
Street� had all been installed and i•re�e not� in service.
