A special neeting of the Board of Public 5afety was held on Saturday `�
January 31� 19�-$ at 10:00 A.i�i. All members were present.
, The meeting was. called for the purpose. of �aking the follo�ring pro-
�otions in the rire Departnent: John. Andert and John Hadrick� Jr. promoted
from Captain to Assistant Chief; Richard Duck promoted to Instructor; Frank
Segety pror.oted from Lieutenant to Captain; Anthony h:iller pror�oted from
Private to Lieutenant and Stanley Olejniczak promoted from private to a
Li�utenant. All of these promotions to become effective February l� 1948.
The Chie£ asked perr.iission to send Captain Barany to .Indianapolis '
P4onday� February 2� to discuss problems of Fire Inspection with the
State Fire Inspection Bureau. The Board granted permission.
The Chief also asked pernission to send two nen� Captain Barany and
Captain Duck? to Indianapolis to attend a three day school on fire fight-
ing. The ,Chief was to attend the school for one day. The Board granted
permission as requested. -
There being no further business to cone before the Board� the meet-
ing was ad�ourned,at 11:00 A,r,. .

ifosk�vinski and Hugh G. Price had failed to pass physical e�;ar,iinations for
the Fire Department.
Applications for the Fire Department trere approved and ordered filed
