All members present., Representatives of. the Blackstone Theatre Corporation appeared before the Board and requested permission to close 100 ft. of the 1st., alley north of Bayne Street off of hnichiga,n Street for a period of forty five days. The Board .granted permission to the Blackstone Theatre Corporation to close said alley for a neried of forty five days, and instructed the representative of sal_d company to place the necessary lights and barricades to be placed r nd the police and fire department to be no t if ied of the same. Chas. B. Starr City Flec tr is ian met with the Board in regard to the purchasing ofo autemob ile- to -made inspeet ions' -with. The Board inforT- ed Mr. Starr that the automobile was to be purchased the as per previous agreement. The Board therefore find that the pro erty asseaned in said roll filed august 25th.,1919 is benef itted in the amounts. of assessments as shown on said assessment roll and 'Uhe Board further find that the assessment roll filed August 20-th. ,1919 and. the f i.nal es t imate allowed August 26th. ,1919 should ba and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved. City Engineer filed estimated cost of Grade, curb - and walk on Elmer Street from Lincoln Way Nest to FkederidksoneSttat... :02.650,.00 The Board ordered nx a 100 C. P. light placed on Burns Street at corner of St. Vincent Street. The Board ordered a notice sent to L. H. Vander Karr contractor on Varioua- walks in the City to repair and construct cement sidewalk as follows: - 36 feet of a idewalk on north side of Grace Street.-' 21 feet: of walk on south .side of Grace Street, 115 tin. feet of sidewalk on Oliva street making a total number of lineal feet of sidewalk of 172, -. and the City agreed to pay for same out of Miscellaneous Fund. Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate`for sheet aaphatt pavement on Lindsey Street from Portage Avenue to Blaine Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 660. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved, that .notices as to the assessment be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, `commencing on the 15th'. day of September 1919, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 24th.9 day of September 1919 at 7:15 P.M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed.. President.
