A re�ular meeting of the Board of Public Safety vr�s held on Monday,

September 24, 1945 at 10:00 A.T�,�. All members were present. P��Sinutes of
the last meeting vJere read and approved. .Salary claims in the amount of
�29,034.16 were approved and ordered paid. Claims of the following sup-
pliers in the amount of �780.67 ti�rere approved and ordered paid:

FIRE DEPARTMETdT: Chief DeVleeschotvQr was pr.esent and matter� pertaining
to his dep artment �rere discussed. .
.The follo�ving applications vaere received for the Fire Department :
VJalter J. P�Zacias, Louis T�,iartin Treber, Phillip '�'rillard Beyers, �ichard •
E. �=iurphy, Joseph �1� x P�iarko, Carl Lakovits, Floyd Stanley P��Ziller, George
Boldi Bo�tor and Joseph Latvrence Jurat. These were all ordered filed
except that of i�lalter J. T�rlacias and his v�as re�ected because he does not
live in the City.
Upon the recommendation of the Fire Chi.ef the follo�ving promotions
were approved by the Board: Homer Perkine to be promoted to CaQtain and
Hubert Rosewicz to be promoted to Lieutenant. These are to become effective
C�ctober 1, 1945.
PdLICE DEPARTbZENT: Chief Everett vraa present and matters pertaining to
his department were discussed.
Anplications for Special Police Commissions were approved for Jack
Palmer and Paul A. Dillinor. These were ordered filed. Also. one was
approved f or John Peter Jones and was ordered filed.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT : 14ir. Vitilliam Qualls, Superintendent was present
and matters pertaining to his depart�nent tirere discussed.
Upon PJIr. Qualls recorrmiendation, the Board approved the installation
of a street ligh� at the intersection of V�alsh and Campeau Streets.
A pet�.tion was received asking for the installation of a s�reet light
on Chapin Street between Calvert and Ev�ring Streets. This was referred to
RSr. Qualls for investigation and report .
There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting
was ad�ourned at 11:15 A.Tvi.
