� John A. Orosz, Jr. was approved by the board as a temporary fire-
r.man, el'fective r�a� 10, 1945. .
Norbert Ziolkotivski was appointed a member of the i�ire Department
.subject to the passing of a physical exar:lination by the Cit�r Ph�sician
.and �he Physician appointQd by the Boai�d of ij'ire Per_sion �rustees. He
,was previously examined by the City Ph3*sician on P�Iarch 13, 1945 and yras
.not recorunended for r`ire Service. . .
'1'he �oard made the f'ollov�r.i.ng ruling, a �vritten copv of �rhich was
given to Chief DeVleescho��Jer:
r'All members of the Fire 'Depa��t�ent returning to dut�r, a�'ter release
rrom the armed f'orces of �the United S�ates, should be required to
pass �n examinatian generally deter:ninin� their p�ysical and riental
fitness for active duty. If they are unable to pass such an exa�-nination,
your Pension Board should be immediately notified and the men placed
upon disability pension. "
Upon the recommendation of the 1�'ire Chief, the bid of the Fabric
�'ire Hose Company �vas accepted for the follovrin� : I500 feet of 22"
Fire Iiose at �1.20 per foot; total price �1800.00� and 400 I'ee� of
3/4" Booster �ose at .495 per foot, tl price �198.00, with a three
year guarantee on all hose.
POLICE DEPARTI�,TENT: Chief �verett vras present and matters pertaining
to his depart�ent �v ere di scusse�.
`I'he Chief presented nis report f'or the month of �pril, 1945.
An application �'or a special policer�an �ras approved f'or Ambrose
Joseph Lutz, tvho is to be eriployed by the American District Telegra�h.
A bond f'or a special policeman vras approved �or Edward J. Luther
and �raas ordered f'iled.
�i'he Board made the folloti�in� ruling, a tivritten copSr of which ti�ras
given to Chief Everett :
"All members of the rolice Depart::�ent returnin� to duty, after r�elease
f'rorl �he armect for�ces of the United States, zvhould be required to pass
an examination generally determinin� their pnfsical and mental fitness
for active duty. IY� they are unable to pass such an exar�ination, your
pension Board should be immediately notif'ied and the men placed upon
disability pension. "
