Kenneth �°latterson having Ueen released from the ELrmed F'orces of the United Sta�es, having been, prior to that, a .member of the �H'ire Department is hereby ordered restored to duty subjec� to his ability to pass a gen- er�l physical examiriation by the City Physician. As soon as the Chiefof �� the Fire Department is notified that he has so passed the examination, he is to restore him to duty im�mediate"ly and notify the Clerk of the Board. P�LICE DEPAR'1'T,�PdT: Chief Everett was present and matters pertaining. to his department �rere discussed. , P'ive men, Harry P:IcIntyre, Carroll Parfitt, �arl iiartup, James Ramer and �FJilliam Thomas, , tivere appointed special of'ficers of the City of South �end havin� passed phfsical examinations by �he city Doctor and a Doctor appointed by the Board of Police Pension Fund Trustees, a:�d qaid rnen will report for dutSr as directed by the Chief of Police, R�r, �3artup to first produce a release from his present . employar, and all of these men to become regulat of'ficers of the City of Sou�h Bend effective as of the day of their repertin� f or du��r, provided that they shall successfully pass a period of nine months probation as special officers of said city. Salaries are directed to be paid to these men in accordance ylith the regular schedule of the monthly pa� of officers ona probationar� basis.
