R'Ir. �ualls submittecl a report on the petition far a s�ree� light in the rniddle of th.e middle of the block on harris Street betti�een Huron Street and �Jes�ern Avenue. He reco�rnended that a 1000 lumen light be installed, but due to the decision of the� Board to hold up all new installations of street lights, this one vsill be filed for the present. A let�er from Lieutenant Ellsi�rth R. Butz, of the South Bend Traffic Coffinission, �ras addres�ed to the Board relative to the city�s adherrence to the nation-�ride dim-out. The Traffic Commission feels that the dim=out has resulted in an increase in traffic larv viola�ions in the down totivn district, and recommends tha� the Board direct that all street lights in the do wn toim area be turned on.
