to his depart�ent were discussed.
Chief DeVleeschotiver �vas granted permission to ai;tend a meeting of
the Indiana Fire Chiefs Association at Inciianapolis, Indiana on r�2arch 8th.
PQLICE DEPARTryTENT: Chief Enerett ti�as present anu matters pertaining to
his department :vere discussed.
Applications for special police cor7missione were approved for James
R. 4tiven, to be employed at the South Ber�d Armory Board, and Alex S. �hmiel
to be employed at Bendix. These ti7ere ordered filed.
Bonds for Special Police Commissions were approved f'or James .�. Scott,
Frank A. Szamecki, Jonn August i�opper, gniel Leon Lekens, Jacob D. �Iolfe
and James �. Ovten. These c�ere ordered fi7.ed. -
ELECTRICAL DEPARTiy2ENT: ?,Zr. �Jilliam Qualls, Superintendent, was present and
matters perta�n ng to his departanent tivere discussed.
Pdr. Qual"ls submitted reports on ttvo petitions for street lights to
the Board. �ne petition,requesting a atreet li�ht at the intersection of
So.uth Falcon and Huron Street, tivas not reco�mended at it would be nesting
lights closer .than has been the practice- of the Board in time past, and
the petition requesting a street light betwe9n 5t. Adalbef�ts Church and
Rectory, was not reco�nended in vie�v of •the many street intersections in
the ci�y that do not have street lights.� The Board accepted these recom-
mendations and the petitiona �ere denied�. �
