Upon the recornmendation of the I�'ire Chief and after a full discussion
b� the Board the follo��rin� promotions �vere made: Lieutenant Jos. Burzynski
zvas promoted to Captain and Franls Afto;��ski was promo�ed to Lieutenant.

The ��ire Cilief presented letters to the Board indicating tha� �
John I+'ilchak and Kenneth J. Tu�bs had completed their probationary �
p.�riods �•Jith the �'ire Department successfully and �e no��r recor.unends
that the� be given permanent apgointments to the Department. Upon
the Chiefts recorimendation and after discussing the m�.tter, the Board
decides that the :t��o men should be given permanen� appointment to the
Fire Department as of December 16, 1944. -
. The Board approved the tenporar� appointment to the �ire l�epart-
rlent of Geor�e VanArsdale, effective Janu�ry 1, 1945. �
. The Fire Chi�f iniormed the 3oard� that he �7as in need of a one
thousand gallon pur.�per, and the Board directed that speeifications for
sanie be arativn. up. • . •

the request for a StrQet light to illumina�e the entrance near the
Northcrest corner of the school. !lfter a full discussion, the Board
denied the petition on the grounds that it �rould properly come under the
jurisdiction of the School Board, and P.�:rs. iveiter ti�as asl�ed to talk to
the School Attorney regarding the mati;er. �
A petition �.ras received carryin� 19 names •-requesting �hat a street
li�ht be installed betyreen St. Adelbert 's Ghurch and Rectory on Huron
Street . ' This c�a� referred to the Electrical D�partinent.
