A regular mee�ing of the Board of Public Safety was held on r.2onday,
July 17, 1944 at 10 :15 A.r�'I. A11 members wer:; present. �Zinutes of the last
meeting tivere read and approved. Claims of �he-follovJing suppliers in the
amount of �263.81 were approved and ordered paid:

PQLICE DEPARTi:2ENT: Chief Everett was present and matters pertaining to his
department tirere discussed. • •
A letter t^1as received from Clement �iazinski, Entertainrnent Chairman of
the Fraternal E�rder of Police, asking that the fee charged for vaudeville
shows �iven in the City, be ��raived for a benefi t shovr that the Poli ce are
giving. The Board agreed to tivaive the fee. •
Chief Evere�t presented his report for the rlonth of June, 1944.
The Board received a letter of resi;nation from Police Officer IY�arko
but did not accept same.
An application for the Police Departrnent :°�as received f'rom Albert Thomas.
This .�as ordered filed. Also an application �vas received from James George
I�'Iueller and ti^ras re jected hecause of educational qualifications.
Bonds for special Policemen vrere approved for Ben,jamin Harold Quick,
Samuel Hesler, ascar E1mer Shafer and Ralph B. VJi lson, These ivere ordered
filed. An application for sp°cial Folice comrniesion tvas approvad for
Hubert Glenn Sandefur and tivas ordered filed, as his bond has already been
received.

matters pertaining to his dep�rtr,�.ent ;�rere discussed.
I�Zr. �ualls made a report on the petition for street lights on 23rd Street
bet��reen lrTisha��aka Avenue and the Grand Trunk Railroad, but the Boarcl held
up any decision until the Board can vierr �he conditions exisi;ing on said street
