HomeMy WebLinkAboutNo. 0913 indicating its intention to transfer certain real estate to the South Bend Redevelopment AuthorityRESOLUTION N0. 913 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION INDICATING ITS INTENTION TO TRANSFER CERTAIN REAL ESTATE TO THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY. - WHEREAS, the South Bend Redevelopment Commission owns certain parcels of residential real estate in that portion of the South Bend Central Development Area generally known as Monroe Park, which parcels are more fully described in Exhibits A through K attached hereto and made a part hereof, and WHEREAS, the structures on said parcels are in need of renovation or demolition, and WHEREAS, the Commission lacks the necessary funds to perform the renovation and the demolition, and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36 -7- 14.5 -19 the South Bend Redevelopment Authority is authorized to issue bonds in order to finance public improvements as set forth in I.C. 36 -7- 14.5 -11, and WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 36- 7 -14 -22 and I.C. 36 -7- 14.5 -18 the Commission may transfer property to the Redevelopment Authority for improvements by the Authority consistent with the purposes set forth in I.C. 36 -7 -14.5, and WHEREAS, the Commission desires to transfer said property to the Authority for such improvement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission as follows: The parcels of land within that portion of the South Bend Central Development Area commonly known as Monroe Park, which parcels are more completely described in Exhibits A through K attached hereto and incorporated herein, shall be transferred to the South Bend Redevelopment Authority pursuant to and consistent with the purposes set forth in I.C. 36 -7 -14.5. The President or the Vice - President and the Secretary of the Commission are the proper parties to execute the deeds transferring the parcels.
