Second District Attached is the 2019 salary ordinance setting the Common Council's salary.
The Proposed Council budget includes a salary increase for members of the
Sharon L.McBride Common Council at 2%. If approved,this would be the result in an increase
Third District of$388.22 over the current maximum salary.

Fourth District I recommend that the proposed ordinance be referred to the Personnel and
Finance Committee for review and recommendation and then set for the 2nd
Jake Teshka & 3`d reading and public hearing at the October 8th Common Council

AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,INDIANA,
SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE COMMON COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR
CALENDAR YEAR 2019
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
The South Bend Common Council is required to fix the annual compensation of elected city officers.
Indiana Code §36-4-7-2 authorizes the legislative body to carry out these responsibilities.
This ordinance proposes a two percent(2%)maximum increase for calendar year 2019 for the nine-
member Common Council.
Now,Therefore it be ordained by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows:
Section 1. The maximum salaries for the members of the South Bend Common Council for the 2019
calendar year shall be established as follows,which reflects a maximum 2% increase over the 2018
maximum rate:

Section II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common
Council, approval by the Mayor and legal publication.
